You stood at your post with your body completely still, you always had to be. you were a security guard for HYDRA, or at least an undercover one. Fury wanted his best agent on the inside to get information on the Winter Soldier or any other new projects they were cooking up, and you just happened to be that agent.

It had been six months since you went undercover. You had made no attempt to befriend anyone there, which wasn't a problem seeming as though everyone that works for HYDRA has a stick up their ass. All you found out so far was that they wiped the Winter Soldier's memory every single day.

You'd done a fair amount of reading up on the Winter Soldier, or "Bucky", before your mission (as was protocol). His story was heartbreaking, which made your mission harder to carry out. Sometimes, when the torturing got real bad, you'd allow a tear or two to escape your eyes...as long as no one was looking.

You stood guard at the entrance to the room they wiped his memory in. Everyday you could hear his agonizing screams and see how physically and emotionally drained he was after the fact.

Everyday was the same, he walked in, got carried out, never looking around. His long black hair covered his face, but you could still see all the bruises and cuts that made up almost his entire complexion. On the way out, his limp body was always supported by two security men.

Every day was the same, except for today. Something happened, something strange.

Today was different

They didn't take him into that room.
