"Y/N!" You could hear Bucky's voice fall out after you as he followed you down the hall.
You got to your room and slammed the door, knowing inevitably what was going to happen. He opened it right after it closed to find you against the wall, hands clasped tightly around your legs. "I'm a monster..." you cried out, your tears muffled by your legs. You could feel him crouch down in front of you and lift your head from its place
"Y/N, look at me." He said seriously "Do you remember what you told me back at HYDRA." You statues silent and tears streamed down your face. "You told me I️ wasn't a monster." He continued "You. Are not. A monster." This was the most serious and determined you'd seen him, he really wanted to get his point across.
"I️-I️ am, Buck." He shook his head and cupped yours in his hands. "Look me in the eyes, you are not a monster." His time softened a little "What HYDRA did- what Abram did was fucked up. Someone as wonderful as you should never had to go through something like that. I'm so sorry you had to Y/N."
You sunk into his arms as he pulled you close to him. "Am I️ ever going to be normal again?" You asked genuinely into his shoulder "It takes some time, but I️ promise you'll be you soon enough." He assured you. If you could trust anyone to know what they were talking about it would be Bucky, he'd dealt with this first hand.
"Everyone is going to hate me..." you continued. "No they won't, they can't hold any of this against you and if they do they're assholes." His words had started to make you feel better and you lifted your head from his shoulder. You smiled at him through tear-filled eyes. "I️'m sorry I'm a sobbing mess right now."
"You're beautiful as ever." He replied before pulling you in for a quick kiss. He parted and wiped the tears from your blushing face. "What would I️ do without you?" You asked as you gave him a small smile. He stroked your tear stained cheeks before speaking up again "Now how about we go eat some breakfast, and you can tell me about all the cool new technologies the 21st century has to offer."
You chuckled a bit at how old he sounded and nodded, taking the hand he offered to help you up and exiting the room. You let out a slow, long breath as you descended the stairs towards the kitchen, where you could hear everyone speaking.
"Will she be a safety issue? Should she be allowed on missions?" A disembodied voice that seemed to belong to Vision asked "She'll get better, I️ know it." Tony answered. They were talking about you. The conversation seized when you came into view, and they all gave you apologetic and slightly worried smiles.
This was going to be great.
