When I'm Lying In Your Arms (A Yu-Gi-Oh! Puzzleshipping Fanfiction!)

Chapter 22

     Yugi's POV

     The  sky, it's filled with dark clouds and slowly, bit by bit the rain fall and then it becomes heavy rain accompanied by lightning bolt.It paints my heart and mind right now. I still can't believe what I've just been through, my eyes saw them hurt Yami and I sat there not capable of doing anything. I remember how I felt when they hurt Yami, it was hurt especially in my chest and my injury on my neck is nothing compares to Yami's. He's been through hell, how could I let him suffered like that.

      I looked down to my pale hand and I clenched them until they're white and bit my lips, If I were stronger I can saved him from that pain, why am I so useless and someone has to protect me in order for me to survive. I can't let that happen, I don't want anyone else hurt because of me, because I can't do anything to save my own self.

       My thought was intruded with a knock on my bedroom and then it opened, illuminating my dark bedroom with the lights on the hall and my eyes caught a figure standing behind the door "Yugi, you awake huh?" Heba said.

       He turned on the light inside my bedroom and closed the door while I closed my eyes and opened my eyes slowly to readjusting my eyes with the light inside my bedroom. Heba then sat on my bed and stroked my hair gently "You can't sleep, aren't you?" he asked with his gentle smile paste on his lips. My mouth couldn't make up the answer and all I did is nodded my head as a yes to Heba's question.

      "I've been in your place before" I curled my body to a ball and sighed "At least you can do something right to save Atem?" I asked before he can finished telling me his experience before."Nope" Heba answered and I looked to him in surprised "I can't do anything but to see him got tortured by those son of bitches" while spoke the sentence that, he gripped my hair tight and I immediately yelped.

     "Heba! Your grip!" I exclaimed and he immediately let go and laughed nervously "I'm so sorry Yugi" and he proceed to rubbed my hair much more gentler. "You know, I think Yami is still lucky. Got away with a broken wrist and 3 cracked ribs" I sat straight right away after what I heard from Heba "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!" I shouted on the top of my lungs. Heba immediately sealed my lips with his finger "Quiet, you're going to wake Yami up"

      I shooed his finger away "I have to see him Heba" I said then stood up followed by Heba and he said to me "He's in the bedroom, should be awake in near time" I threw a smile to my brother and said 'Thank you' before I walked to Yami's bedroom. A little bit inside hoping that he's still unconscious until I'm out to prevent the awkward situation.

      I opened the door to the bedroom slowly and saw Yami is fast asleep peacefully on the bed with the blanket covering his body to keep the temperature warm. I closed the door and walked to him as silent as I can to him. I felt a pang on my heart remembering again what he has been through. I took a deep breath before slowly moving my hand to Yami's hair and stroked them slowly "I'm sorry" I whispered.

      My whisper is like a trigger to his conscious. After I whispered my sorry to him, his eyes instantly fluttered and a small groan escape his mouth. I jumped back silently and moved my hand away from his tri-colored and soft hair. He moved his head to my side and his lips twitch in to a smile "You're okay Yugi?"

     I was taken back by his question to me, he worried about me? He should be worried more about himself after what he's been through. "I'm fine Yami. You should be worried about yourself more" I said as I looked away and pulled my lips in to a small line. I can heard a chuckle from him and movement from him.

      I looked back to him and I opened my mouth "No wait, just lie down. Don't move" I said as he tried to sit up and I can see his face in pain. I took a step closer to him and gently forcing him to lie down on the bed. He smiled wider to me and my heart that filled with guilt suddenly now feel so warm. "You worried too much you know, I'm fine." he assured me and stroked one of my hand on his shoulders.

       I can feel my face suddenly also become warm like my heart and in addition, my heart is beating faster than before "Yugi ... ?" he called out but I'm lost in my own fantasy where I lived in a world where Yami and I are the Kings and live happily ever after. "Earth to Yugi" he said as he pinched my cheek.

      That pinch brought me back to reality and I yelped "Yeah .. did you ask something?" I asked dumbfounded. Yami chuckled a little bit and he suddenly pulled me down to his embrace "Y-Yami ?! What are you doing?" I asked with panic started to filling me up and my heart beating faster and what worse is I couldn't  think straight, all I can think is I want to be inside his embrace forever not letting go. MY MIND GOES BERSERK.

     "I want to hug you all day. That's what I said" and he hugged me tighter and suddenly yelped in pain. That sends me to panic mode, I immediately sat up and looked to him "Are you okay Yami?!" he touched his band-aided wrist and winced "Yeah I'm fine, it's just I accidentally put my broken wrist under your body" and I gasped right away. 

      "Let me take a check" and in panic I accidentally took his broken wrist not so gently making him yelped in pain again and I let go immediately feeling more guilty "I-I'm fine Yugi, don't worry" he said and he laughed nervously. "I'm sorry I hurt you Yami" I looked down to my hand on his bed. "If I can do something back then, maybe you won't get these broken bones now. I'm such a useless person" and then I sighed deeply.

      "Hey Yugi" Yami put his hand above mine and make a circle pattern to calmed me down with this thumb "You're not useless you know. You're tied down and you can't do anything. I understand, but remember this. You're not useless, you are the strongest person I have ever met in my entire life" hearing those words coming out from Yami somehow lighten up my day a little bit. "Thank you" I looked up to him and smiled widely to him.

     Then our moment interfered with someone calling Yami's name "Oh look, Yami's awake" and I swear I'm the most idiot person in the entire human world. I was surprised by the sudden intruder and thus I accidentally jumped and fell to Yami making him groaned in pain. I screamed in high pitched and without haste sat up and by the look of Yami's face.

     He's in so much pain because of me.

     "Yami, I'm truly sorry." I said as I furrowed my eyebrows and I stroked his arm trying to calm him down. "Oops" that's all Atemu said and I looked to the door and my peripheral vision saw Atemu and Heba slowly closing the door with guilty painted in their face.

     Oh they're so gonna pay.

Okay I take back my words, there's not a lot of fluffiness because it's in the middle of the night in here and tomorrow is scaring me and I can't concentrate.

I know this is not good enough, I will add more in the next chapter plus I still hurt Yami in this chapter. Oops (2)
