Your POV:

You got out of the shower and put on the red ripped jeans with a tight grey T-shirt and went downstairs. Sans was waiting for you so that he could take you to see Alphys about your families connections to the underground. He opened the door for you and you shivered at the cold wind that blew in at you.

"Sans, do you maybe have an extra jacket I could borrow?"

"Sure, here you go."

He handed you a jacket that matched his and you smiled. You pulled it on and stepped outside. Sans held your hand and teleported both of you to Alphys' lab. When you got there Alphys was waiting at the door.

"Hey you two. Come on in, I've got some important things to show you."

"Thanks for doing this Alphys, it means a lot to me."

"Alright, you gonna be ok on your own? I've got to go help pap with preparations for your visit with Undyne."

"I'll be fine. Love you, bye!"

You gave him a kiss and walked over to Alphys.

"Heh, love you too sweetheart. I'll be back to pick you up later."

"What was that all about? Huh?"

You blushed and giggled and pulled sans' jacket tighter around your body.

"Let's just say, I've found my missing piece."

You walked inside and followed Alphys down a hallway. You came to a library and sat down. Alphys brought out all sorts of books, mostly history books but some books had legends in them.

"Hey Alphys, why did you bring these books over? They don't have anything to do with history."

"Oh but that's where you're wrong my friend. Those are our most important history books. They contain prophecies and past accomplishments of our kind."

Wait, she said 'our' kind. Did she mean you or her?

"Alphys, you said our kind. What do you mean?"

"You'll see! First I need to show you these pictures."

Alphys put a photo album down in front of you both, it had some kind of insignia on the front.

"That's the royal crest, its pretty isn't it?"

"Ya it is, and it kinda looks familiar."

You didn't know why but, for some reason you felt like you had seen this insignia somewhere on the surface before. She flipped through a few pages, you saw pictures of monsters that looked happy and it looked like they were having fun. She skimmed over a few more pages and you gasped.

"Wh- what are my parents doing in your photo album Alphys?!"

"This is what I wanted to show you, here look closer at the picture. Notice anything?"

You looked closer and, there it was. The same insignia on the cover of the photo album. But it was on your mother's dress and your fathers coat.

"How can this be?"

"Well, you see, everyone in the Royal family wears this insignia on their clothing. Now look a little closer."

You looked closer and, you saw that your father had demon horns.

"My father was a monster?"

"Yes he was a shapeshifter, and your mother was the adopted daughter of the king and queen, her name is Chara. Now that you know that part of your parents history let's look at a few prophecies."

She passed you a different book open to a page titled ' The Dreemurrs '. You read it out loud.

"In the underground there was a king a queen and their son. One day a fallen child, Chara came and lived with them. They raised her as their own and she grew up into a wonderful young woman. She soon fell in love with a monster, she wanted to show him the world she came from. Or at least, that's what she told him. They soon had a daughter and decided they wanted to raise her on the surface. The true reason why Chara wanted to get to the surface was because she hated humanity, the humans, unlike monsters were horrible to her and she wanted revenge. So she snuck a human soul from her father and gave it to her husband. They went through the barrier and were never seen again."

You couldn't believe it, your own mother hated humanity and was raised by monsters. A king and queen none the less.

"Alphys, if my mother was adopted and raised by a king and queen, then she was a princess. So that means I'm-"

You gasped and sank farther down into your chair.

"Yup, your a princess by birth. Maybe not by blood, but a royal all the same. Your royal highness!"

She bowed and you giggled. She made all of this a little easier to take in.

"Alright. We've got one more prophecy to look at."

She turned to a different page in the book, this story looked more like a legend to you but she did say it was a prophecy.

"This one is called ' The Barrier '. Hey wasn't the barrier in the last story?"

"Yes, but this tells you more about the barrier."

"Ok, here goes. The barrier was a magical wall, a spell created by humans many years ago. It was a successful attempt to trap monsters underground. The king and queen searched for years to find a way to break the barrier, and soon enough came across the answer. They needed 7 human souls to transform a monster into a God and smash the barrier, but to get the human souls they would have to kill 7 humans. The queen was against that plan and left the king once he started killing innocent humans that fell down to the underground. Unless there was someone who possessed a soul of monster magic and human determination, then the king would need all 7 souls."

"This story is prophesying that someone with a soul of both monster magic and human determination would fall down here and save us. (Y/n), I believe that you are a being with a soul of monster magic and human determination. I'm going to need to do a few tests to see if you soul does in fact contain both of those elements but, if all comes out positive then, you are our last hope to get out of here. I know that's a lot to take in all at once, but its the truth. I knew you when you were just a baby, I never thought I would see you again. But I knew it was you when I saw you making friends with all those monsters instead of killing them. Only someone who understood both humans and monsters would be able to do that."

You started to get dizzy. A bunch of memories of your parents came flooding back to you and you were frightened at what you saw.

"(Y/n)? Are you alright? You don't look so good."

"Ya ya, I'm fine. I just need to- to get some fresh air."

You stood up and took a few steps. You didn't make it far before your head hit the cold stone floor. You went unconscious and you began hearing the same voice from the last time you passed out.
