Akira's POV
I was forced to wait outside and watch television while the team did whatever it is they were doing in the kitchen.
Why do I want to play badminton? What an odd question...
I have no idea why I even want to try, but I do know what I saw back at the tournament. I saw a winning team, celebrating their victory with tears of joy and wide smiles. I saw them feel the worth of their efforts as they were handed their trophy. I saw a losing team, agonized by the "what if" questions that bombarded their heads, trying to comprehend where things went south, but accepting their defeat with honor. I saw them crying because of their loss; because what they wanted slipped so easily away from their reach.
It was an all or nothing battle, and that's what I've been accustomed to all my life.
Is that why I want to try?
"Done!" Hinata yelled as they all left the kitchen.
"Thank you for the meal," Kageyama-kun said. "And sorry for making a mess."
"I-it's fine, really," I said with a smile as I stood up from my seat.
"Well, we have to go," Daichi-san said. "There's a seniors meeting in a couple of minutes. We'll see you guys on Monday."
The seniors left and so did everyone else except for Tsukishima-kun. I sighed and sat back down on the seat.
"So what do you have planned for the entire day?" he asked.
"Shopping," I said with a sigh. "I'm supposed to pick up some stuff for the club, as well as restock on my own food."
"I'll go with you," he said, handing me a paper. "And you're going to help me with this."
It was a grocery list, probably from his mom. I laughed.
"Why, do you not know how to shop for groceries?" I asked. He rolled his eyes. "Alright, but let me get changed first, my sweater's covered in flour."
Tsukishima's POV
"How do I look?" Akira asked as she walked back down to the cafe. She had on a jumper style skirt, a white shirt underneath, and the sneakers she was wearing before.
"Tired, as usual," I said. She rolled her eyes and closed the lights in the kitchen.
"Come on," she said.
"I brought my bike," I said as I stood up from the chair I was sitting on. "You could just stand on the back."
"Better than riding a bus," she said. We walked out of the cafe and I hopped onto my bike. Akira stood on the rear pegs and held onto my shoulders. She suddenly laughed.
"What?" I asked.
"I haven't done this in a while. The last time I did, my mom and I were riding through an open field but it suddenly rained and I slipped and fell. So did she. We ended up covered in mud." She was smiling widely then looked at me. "Why are you looking at me like that?"
I shook my head and started peddling to the mall. She was smiling the entire time. As we were speeding through the streets, she asked me a question.
"Isn't it extra tiring for you because your legs are so long?"
"Isn't it extra tiring for you to keep reminding yourself about how tiny you are?"
"Will you ever stop teasing me about my height, you over grown sarcastic butthead?"
