Akira's POV
"You know, this is oddly convenient," Tsukishima said as he rolled me down the hallways of the school. "You carry the boxes on your lap and I just push you around. Minimal labor."
"You seem to enjoy pushing me around," I said, rolling my eyes.
The entire school was preparing for the sports festival. Classes were practicing for the competitions, others were setting up their classrooms for their booths, and so on and so forth. Tsukishima and I came from the entrance gate to pick up some stuff I had sent over from the café, so now I'm acting as his push cart.
"At least you don't have to walk," he teased.
"Aww, poor giant baby," I said, rolling my eyes.
We made it to the volleyball courts where both the volleyball team and the badminton team were setting up.
"I can't believe we're missing a week's worth of practice for this," Kageyama complained as he set down table cloths on the tables.
"Oi oi oi!" Tanaka-san said, hitting him hard on the back. "You don't get it, huh?"
"Get what?"
"This is a maid-slash-butler café! Do you know what kind of people go to these kinds of things?!" He asked intimidatingly. "Cute girls!!"
"I knew he would say that," Suga-san said, letting out a sigh. "Now stop your bickering and get to work, we still have a lot to do!"
"I'll take that," Jiro-kun said, picking up the box of kitchenware from my lap. He stopped for a bit then his expression changed to a panicked one. "Oh! It's been an hour since you took your medicine! Did you forget-"
"I already reminded her," Tsukishima interrupted with a smirk.
"Is that so? That's good then," Jiro said with an irritated look on his face. Did these two have some sort of fight or something?
"Alright, alright, let's get to work," Daichi said, dragging Tsukishima to the corner to do some heavy lifting.
"I'll help you out," Yachi said, taking her turn to push me over to the decorations table.
"I can roll myself, you know," letting out a small laugh.
Honestly, this is so embarrassing for me. Everyone else feels responsible to take care of me and push my wheelchair around and whatnot. I just hit my leg on the pole of a badminton net and now here I am, a bigger burden than the event itself.
"You look a bit down," Shimizu-san said as we started cutting out streamers.
"It's the whole wheelchair thing, I guess," I said. "Plus, my leg still kind of hurts, so it sucks that I can't really help out that much for the event."
"Don't stress yourself out too much, you'll be healed up before you know it," Ukai-san said, passing by. I thanked them all and we went back to work.
The rest of the week was filled with preparations for the sport festival and medicine as my leg healed. I stayed at Tsukishima's house, we went to school together, worked on the café along with everyone else, and soon, the day of the festival came.

Tsukishima's POV
"Hey, wake up," I said as I lightly tapped Akira's cheek. She sighed and her eyes slowly fluttered open.
It was Saturday morning, the day of the sports festival. Aki and I were in bed with her snuggled up against my chest like she normally does. She got used to it, and I guess so did I.
"It's too early," she complained.
"Of course it is, we have to get there and prepare the food," I said, sitting up. She plopped off of my chest and onto the bed and immediately looked for something else to hug.
"Do we really have to?" She asked, looking up at me with a sad face. I rolled my eyes and stood up from the bed.
"How's your leg?" I asked.
"It doesn't really hurt anymore, but I haven't tried stading up on it yet," she said, pushing herself up to sit.
"Think you can do it?"
"Maybe?"
She positioned herself on the edge of the bed and I held out my arms just in case it hurt too much that it would make her fall.
"Scared?" I asked as she stared at her knee. Without answering, she took a deep breath and stood up. She flinched and fell into my arms, but she was still standing on her leg.
"It feels a little weak," she said, exhaling deeply. "But I think I can manage."
"Here, I'll walk to you the bathroom."
We took small steps, and she got more confident in each one. Soon, her look of worry turned into an expression of happiness and excitement.
"It feels okay now," she said happily. "Now go because I really have to pee."
"Of course you do," I said, rolling my eyes.
I prepared our things as she took her bath and got dressed to go to school. Akiteru was packing us some breakfast.
"I added some snacks in case you guys get a little hungry between your shifts," he said, handing me a bag filled with food containers. He was glad that Aki could walk fine now. She's been groaning and complaining about not being able to help out too much in the event preparations.
"Now I think she's just going to try to hog all the work later," I said, letting out a sigh.
"She feels guilty, I understand," he replied. "Just make sure she doesn't overwork herself, especially that knee of hers."
"Got it."
"Let's go!!" Aki yelled as she burst out of my room, dressed and ready to go.
"You do realize that I still have to get ready too, right?" I asked her. She stopped in her tracks and looked over me, realizing I was still in my pajamas. She sighed and plopped herself onto the couch.
"Hurry up," she said, pouting.

Akira's POV
"You sure seem excited," Tsukishima said as we walked to the volleyball gym.
"Well yeah," I said. "I could barely do much while you guys were getting ready for today. I need to make up for lost time and I plan to do just that."
"Aki-chan! You guys are finally here!" Yachi said, greeting us.
The entire gym was decorated from the stage down to the courts. Tables were set up and on the side was an open kitchen set-up with the help of the cooking club. The stage was also ready with the lights turned on and everything. We'd be having performances from other students in Karasuno.
"What time are we starting?" Kageyama-kun asked as he arrived at the gym.
"In about thirty minutes or so," Daichi-san answered him. "Let's get bring down the food from the truck so we can get started on the cooking then have everyone change into their uniforms. Let's get to work!"
We all cheered and headed out to Ukai-san's truck to bring down the ingredients we prepared for today.
"Don't overwork yourself," Tsukishima said as he pulled me back a bit while we were walking. "Your leg just healed."
"But-"
"Don't worry about it. You just have to keep looking pretty while taking everyone's orders. I'll do the heavy lifting," he said with a smile that somehow made my heart flutter.
Did he just say "keep looking pretty"????
