Akira's POV
"Wait what?" I asked.
The volleyball team visited me during their break from practice over at our gym. Jiro-kun and the others and the others were picking up shuttlecocks from the courts while the whole sprots week event was being explained to me.
"Yeah," Daichi-sa said. "We'll have to take some time to talk about the whole thing eventually but I'm worried that this might get in the way of your practices for your tournament in less than a month. I mean, you just started learning the sport."
"Oh, don't worry about her," coach said as he approached us.
"This is my coach, Tachiba Kou. He's Tachiba-sensei's husband and he used to coach teams from other schools before," I introduced him. "I forced him to coach our team."
"Nice to meet you," he said to the volleyball team with a smile. "Anyways, you don't have to worry about taking too much time from Akira. the girl's a natural! Her grip is perfect, her form is great, and her aim is pretty damn accurate. Heck, she'll be ready to compete in a week!"
Everyone looked at me with a confused and shocked expression.
"I can probably use the rest of my time helping with the fair," I said. They all kept staring at me like I was someone they didn't know.
"Hold on," Tanaka-san said, shaking his head and waving his arms. "You're telling me that this unhealth, over-working, irresponsible, tiny ass twerp could start competing within a week?!"
"Pretty much," coach said, crossing his arms.
"I'll take those as compliments," I said, letting out a small laugh. "I told you I can handle myself.
"Her stamina is amazing!" Jiro-kun said, approaching us. "All that work she did really came in handy. She barely breaks a sweat when we do drills!"
"Did you drink your vitamins?" Tsu-kun suddenly asked, looking at me with a stern look on his face.
"No."
Yachi's POV
It's been two days since the council announced the sports week plans to the club. The badminton and volleyball club planned a meeting after school to go over the details. We all met up at the cafe Aki worked at.
"I made tea," Aki said, coming out of the kitchen with Jiro-kun, both of them holding trays of tea cups. We all sat together and Aki-chan sat beside me, taking out a notebook. Hinata sat on her other side, amazed at her clean penmanship. Ideas were shared and everything else was discussed. A lot of food was also eaten since Aki-chan and I made a couple of snacks for everyone.
"Okay, are we sure with this?" Daichi-san asked and everyone nodded in agreement.
"Why do we even have to do this?" Tsukishima-kun asked with a sigh.
"Well, it's an open grounds event so visitors can check out the school," Aki-chan said, going over her notebook. "It increases the chance of more students applying if we catch their attention so it has to be good."
"Are we even graded on this?" Hinata asked.
"I asked some faculty members and they said that we'd be graded according to how well we do in the fair."
"You're taking this pretty seriously, huh?" Nishinoya-san asked, smirking as he stretched his legs out. Aki smiled and closed her notebook.
"Of course," she said. "I like these kinds of things. Plus, if it's graded then I have to do well."
"Oh right, honor student."
We ran through everything once more. We were going to do a mini cafe with some entertainment. We were still discussing what kinds of shows to put up but we did assign groups and shifts. While a group performs, the rest are out on the floor, serving the visitors. We also figured out the menu and decided to go with light meals and some pastries.
"All we have to deal with now is the decoration, food, uniforms, and the shows," Sugawara-san said. "That's not a lot, right?"
Everyone looked down at the table and sighed simultaneously.
"Our tournament got moved up," Mariko-chan said, one of the girls from the badminton club. Eri-chan, another member, sighed once more and rested her chin on the back of her hand.
"It got moved up to next week," Eri said.
"What?!" the volleyball team yelled.
"Yeah," Akira said. "They had to reschedule because of some bigger event that was going to be held. Everything got messed up and our competition got bumped up to next Saturday and Sunday."
"Will you guys be ready by then?" Kageyama asked.
"I think so," Aki-chan answered, smiling. "You'd be surprised at how good the team I put up is. You haven't even seen us practice!"
"Well, we do have extended tomorrow and on Friday," Jiro-kun said. "You guys can stop by after your practice and see how Aki-chan goes into beast mode."
"Beast mode?" Asahi-san asked, raising his brow.
"YEAH!" Eri-chan suddenly yelled. "She gets really worked up during practice! Her concentration is always spot on the entire time and she's so focused that we can't shake her out of it sometimes!"
"And don't worry," Jiro-kun said. "Tachiba-san always brings a meal along with her just for Aki-chan so she's eating pretty healthy right now. Although her body isn't really accustomed to it yet so sometimes she ends up barfing them out-"
"WHAT?!" the seniors of our club yelled.
"Barfing them out?!" Yamaguchi-kun followed.
"I'm not used to eating a lot," Aki-chan said, letting out a small laugh. I immediately looked at Tsukishima-kun and saw a worried look on his face. At the same time, he seemed... angry?
"That's what you get for living on nothing but quick cook meals!" Sugawara-san yelled. "You need to eat more! Have you looked at yourself in the mirror? You're as thin as a toothpick! Just a little more and your bones will snap! Have you been drinking your vitamins?! Have you been drinking lots of water?! You need to start eating healthy or who knows what'll happen to you!"
He wasn't the only one rambling over Aki-chan. She was being lectured by the entire team at this point and all she could do was laugh and play with the tails of her hair.
"Come on now," Jiro-kun said, trying not to burst out in laughter. "She'll be doing better in no time! The rest of the team's been taking care of her like a precious little baby!"
"Well, you are pretty small," Tsukishima-kun said with a smirk. "No wonder you're being babied, you're the perfect size!"
"TSUKISHIMA YOU GIANT FREAK!"
