Chapter 4
???-
I didn't know what was going on. I just flew into a She-Abid. Now, she is like... Dead. That other guy just flew down for her. I'm following him, but at a slower pace so that there are no more collisions. Oh no! Her brother isn't flying fast enough! The seagulls are in his way. I got her. I swooped down, caught her, holding her bridal style. I flew her to my nest, making sure a blue bird told the guy where we went. I flew into the structure. I laid her on my bed, and wet a soaking leaf with cold water, placing it on her forehead. I went to the kitchen, making her some French Onion Soup. My personal favorite. The boy flew in. He walked strait to the girl, kneeling by her, stroking her hair. She mumbled something, and he spoke back. They were talking to quietly for me to understand. I walked in the bedroom with three bowls. She sat up, taking her bowl, gulping down the salty broth. The boy took his, eating slowly. I ate mine, savoring every sip. Finally the boy asked,
"Who ARE you?"
"My name is Daniel. I am an Abid." I responded, smiling. "Greatest apologies for the collision, I wasn't watching where I was going.
"Yeah you weren-" the boy began.
"Tanix! He caught me, that is what matters!" The girl said. "I'm sorry. I'm Sky. This is my older brother, Tanix." I held out my hand to Tanix, he shook it. Sky leaned forward, and extended her wings, wincing. I stopped her, inspecting each inch. I came to the highest part of her wing, pressing down.
"Bruised." I said. I went to the window. I took a branch off a tree, and enhanced its leaves with my nature powers. Then, I fashioned the long, green leaves into a kind of sticky bandage. I cushioned it with layers, and put the leaves on her bruise. I smiled. "Where is your nest?" I asked them.
"A few oaks down from here. I recognize these trees." Sky replied, looking out the window. She and Tanix lay together, sleeping. I took a pillow and a blanket from the living room, and took to the floor.
