Tanix
I woke early the next day, packing up our little camp. Theus was still in a deep sleep, but Daniel was sitting up. He looked like he hadn't slept a wink. I gently shook the little boy. He rubbed his groggy eyes and groaned.
"Tanix I had the most awful nightmare. The hut was in fire and Sky was captured and-" he looked around. "Oh..." he just said. I ruffled his hair.
"Oh, it'll be alright!" I said to him.
We checked on all Daniel's scraps, bruises, and wounds. They were healing pretty wells for little rest.
"We need to formulate a plan." I said. "We have to cross the border to go get Sky, but that's not happening. What are we going to do?" I rubbed my temples. I looked over as Daniel squirmed on the ground.
"Actually..." he started. "I can cross, too..." he rubbed the back of his neck. "I never thought it was abnormal..." a grin ripped across my face.
"That's good! We can use that! You can help us spy!" I said.
"But I can't fly... how is that good?" He said.
"If you fly, they'll spot you!" I said, rubbing my hands together. "C'mon! We have to get to the border!"---
Once we were able to transport Daniel to where Sky was taken, we could see the camp. It was huge, there were big tan tents everywhere with the big wheel things I saw earlier. And the was lots of the red flower.
"That's the tent they took her to." I said, pointing to a small black tent with huge male humans guarding the entrance flaps.
"Daniel." I took out a dark green uniform. "I found this at the border months ago. It is one of their uniforms. Put in on and act like you are one of the soldiers. And hide your wings!" I said. Theus and I helped him into the strange suit, doing our best not to touch his wounds.
"Ok. Here I go." He said.---
Daniel
I stepped through the bushes, walking towards the black tent. The men relaxed when they saw me.
"Ah, geez. Took you long enough. Dere's a gurl in dere. Boss got no infomation outta her. Maybe you can." He said handing me a knife. He wanted my to torture her. "Den when yous come back out, you guard." He looked sternly at me. Then walked away. I straightened my shoulders and stepped through. It felt like someone had punched my stomach. All the air had been knocked out of me. Sky sat in the chair, her head low. She had bruises all up her arms legs and face and long gashes on her cheeks. There were feathers at herShe'd been striped to just her under shirt and shorts (cami and biker shorts), which were torn and soaked with blood. She looked awful. I dropped my knife and fell to my knees at her feet. I lifted her chin to look at me, but her eyes were closed. I softly kissed her. I pushed her to lean back against the chair, and taking my knife, I cut the rope around her hands. I picked her up gently, being careful with her bruises. How I had the strength to do this was beyond me. I left the tent, calmly crossing back to the border. One of the guards stopped me.
"What do you think you're doin'?" He said shoving my shoulder roughly. I grunted.
"I'm taking the prisoner to the other stupid creatures. Show 'em what we can do." I said. I scrunched my eye brows and puffed my chest trying to fit the guards.
"Alrigh'." He said shoving me one last time, though he look pleased. I climbed back through the bushes, and right as I looked back, one of my wings popped out of my suit.
"Hey!" The guard said. He started yelling orders, and he pulled out gun.
It was pointed at me.
