On a bright and sunny day outside a police academy, people were exiting the auditorium happy to have graduated and become officers of the law. One such graduate was particularly happy that she's going to live out her dream. This girl was Marie Holmes and she couldn't wait to start her career.

Marie suddenly heard a voice behind her and she turned to see her best friend April coming towards her. Once she reached her, both girls shared a best friends hug and when they pulled away, April smiled at her and said, "I'm so proud of you, Marie."

"I'm proud of me too. I'm excited to start fulfilling my dream," Marie said with a smile.

Soon afterwards, both girls decided to go back to Marie's apartment for a celebration dinner. They went to the store to get ingredients to cook and some strawberry ice cream for later. Once they got there, both girls were greeted by Marie's cat Lucy. As they ventured further in, April saw a lot of boxes that were packed and some were still getting packed. Marie then went to the kitchen and began cooking while April sat at the dining room table and Lucy leapt onto her lap.

April sighed sadly and said, "I can't believe you're leaving after today. It's like I've known you forever."

"I feel the same way too, April. We've known each other since we were kids and here we are now," Marie said as she was mixing the vegetables in the skillet.

As Marie was cooking, the two of them began to reminisce about the good times they had. From adventures in the spring, summer, fall and winter, to holidays, to their school years, to hanging out and being best friends. Soon, dinner was ready and the two of them began eating. As they were digging into the stir-fry Marie made, April asked, "So, where are you going again?"

"It's a city called Grimsborough and I'm heading out there early tomorrow morning," Marie said.

April stopped eating and thought that she might've heard of Grimsborough once. After dinner was over and the girls cleaned up the dishes, they began eating the strawberry ice cream for dessert. While they were digging in, April kept on pondering about Grimsborough and where she heard it before. Once they ice cream was devoured, April decided to head on home so Marie can finish packing. Marie gave April a sad smile and hugged her goodbye and saw her friend to the door.

After April was gone, Lucy padded over and rubbed herself against Marie's leg purring as if to comfort her. Marie smiled and knelt down next to Lucy and scratched behind her ears. Marie then said to the cat, "Don't worry Lucy. We'll make new friends in Grimsborough. It will be a new change for the both of us." And Lucy meowed at her owner as if to agree with her.

Marie then picked up the gray cat, carried her to the bedroom and got ready for bed so she could wake up early and finish packing before the movers came. Marie then got under the covers while Lucy snuggled next to her and the two of them went to straight to sleep. Meanwhile in Grimsborough, Jones was finishing up paperwork on a case he previously solved and placed it in a paper holder marked solved. He then yawned and stretched himself thinking that it was a pretty long week.

As he was doing that, Nathan came into the office, carrying two cups of coffee and placed one next to Jones. Jones thanked him and took a sip of his drink. As he was drinking his coffee, Nathan said to the officer, "So Jones, I heard you're getting a new partner tomorrow."

Jones almost spat out some of his coffee, turned to the African-American man and exclaimed, "I never heard any of this?! When was I going to be told all of this?!"

"Well, the chief mentioned it to almost everyone. I guess you weren't around when he said we were going to get a new member on the squad," Nathaniel explained while taking a drink.
