Michael crawled in bed next to Luke, smiling at the blonde boy.
"How are you feeling?" Michael asked, running his hand through Luke's hair. "I'm okay," Luke mumbled, and closed his eyes again. Michael scooted down beside Luke, and pulled him into his chest.
"Michael, who is Connor?" Luke asked, laying his head down on Michael's shoulder.
"When I was a little confused about my sexuality, he was there. We were friends before, but he helped me realize I was gay. We didn't date or anything, but we would occasionally make out and stuff. Used to go to school with me." Michael said, causing Luke to sit up.
"What the hell, Michael?! Why is he here?" Luke asked, feeling threatened by him.
"He needed a place to stay, and I told him he could stay here." Michael said, and Luke sighed, laying back down with his back faced towards Michael.
Michael didn't even bother to ask Luke how that would make him feel. Luke was scared, and he felt insecure when Michael got all touchy with Connor.
"Baby? What's wrong?" Michael asked.
"When you left me and Connor alone, he said some mean stuff. I don't want to have to listen to that every day." Luke whispered.
"I'm sure it was just a misunderstanding. Connor is the sweetest guy in the world." Michael said, and Luke felt a pain in his chest when Michael defended the other guy.
"You're right. It'll probably be better tomorrow." Luke whispered, and eventually drifted off to sleep.
-
The next morning, Luke was sitting in the kitchen eating frosted flakes, with Connor on the other side of the table.
"You know, you should probably think about eating fruit or something. You're already looking a little heavy, and I know how much Michael hates fat boyfriends." Connor said, and Luke looked down at his lap, realizing his thighs were getting a little big.
"Good morning, beautiful." Luke heard Michael whisper in his ear before he kissed his cheek.
"I'm making your favorite Luke. Pancakes." Michael said, but Luke's smile dropped.
"Actually, I'm not very hungry, but thank you." Luke said, and Michael looked over at him. "Are you sure?" Michael asked, watching as Luke dumped out his cereal.
The blonde boy nodded before leaving the kitchen quietly.
He ran up to him and Michael's room, and took his shirt and shorts off, looking into the full length mirror.
He poked his stomach, not liking the way it squished. He hated how his legs touched. Connors didn't.
He wiped a tear that fell from his eye, and pulled out one of Michael's shirts, throwing it over his head so it covered his butt.
He walked downstairs, and into the kitchen where Michael and Connor were talking.
Luke quietly sat beside Michael, not interrupting their conversation.
"Remember that time you took me to the coffee shop downtown, and it started raining so hard that we couldn't leave, so we slow danced for three hours to the crappy music they had playing." Connor laughed, and so did Michael.
Luke awkwardly sat there as they continued to reminisce on the times they had together.
Luke has been Michael's best friend since he was 4. How did he never know about Connor? Why did Michael never tell him?
About an hour later, Connor excused himself to go to the bathroom, leaving Luke alone with Michael finally.
"Can we go back to that cliff tonight?" Luke asked quietly, really hoping Michael would say yes.
"Babe, me and Connor are going to see Central Intelligence tonight." Michael said, and Luke's face lit up a little.
"Can I go? I've always wanted to see that movie.." Luke asked, smiling brightly. Michael frowned and ran his hand through the side of Luke's hair.
"How about if I take you another time? I was kinda planning on just going with Connor so we can catch up and stuff. I haven't seen him in a while." Michael said, and Luke's face dropped.
He nodded softly, and Michael kissed his forehead, but it didn't make Luke feel any better.
"What exactly do you guys have to catch up on? All you guys did was make out." Luke said, and Michael sighed. "Babe, don't be like that."
"Like what?! Uncomfortable that you let your old fuck buddy stay with us, and now you're going out with him? Can you really blame me for being a little threatened by it? I just listened to you guys talk for an hour about all the good times you had." Luke said, obviously upset at this point.
"Luke it's not like that." Michael said, getting annoyed with Luke.
"I just don't like the idea of it. I'm scared that-"
"That's a pretty short leash you've got there, Michael." Connor said, causing Michael to laugh.
"No kidding." Michael said before leaving the room.
