Michael woke up later than usual, but Luke wasn't beside him.

He got up, and walked down the stairs seeing Luke sitting with his mom in the kitchen. He furrowed his eye brows when his mom looked at him sympathetically. Luke turned around, and was smiling, but crying at the same time.

"Michael, I-I was signed to play baseball in college." Luke said, and Michael smiled.

"Oh my gosh, Luke! That's great!" He said, and hugged him, but Luke didn't hug back.

"In America. I got signed.. In America." Luke said, and Michael pulled back.

"Oh, so are we moving?" Michael asked, and looked at his mom.

"Um, Michael I can't leave my job. I have such a good position now, and I just got promoted. We can't move, honey." Karen said

"What? Then I can go. When you get the chance, you can come live with us." Michael said, and Karen sighed.

"Michael, no. We're staying. Luke is 18, and he said he's okay with going by himself. He has to." She said, and Michael shook his head.

"Where are you even going?" Michael asked, looking at Luke.

"California. I'm gonna be living in LA." Luke whispered and Michael sighed.

"When are you going?" He asked, and Luke stood up. "They want me there as soon as possible so I can check out the field and stuff..." Luke said softly as Karen left to give them some alone time.

"So?" Michael asked, and Luke's voice began to shake.

"I-I'm leaving tomorrow morning." He said, and more tears fell from his eyes.

Michael laughed, and shook his head, not believing what he was hearing.

"Are you kidding?" Michael asked, and Luke shook his head.

"How long are you gonna be gone?" Michael whispered.

"Two months. And then i come home for Christmas." He said, and Michael sat down.

"Luke, no." Michael sighed, running his hands through his hair.

"I have to go, Michael. If I stay here, I'll lose a full scholarship to college." Luke said softly.

"Yeah, but if you go, you might lose a boyfriend." Michael said, and Luke's lip quivered.

"Please don't say that. Michael, I got signed to play baseball. I thought you would be proud of me. Not break up with me. Please don't." Luke cried.

"I was stupid to say that." Michael whispered.

"Don't be mad at me. Playing baseball is all I've ever wanted to do. I can't turn it down." Luke said, and Michael hugged him tightly.

"I'm so proud of you, baby. I'm sorry for saying we would break up. We're gonna be fine. Im just upset." Michael said, finally processing everything and calming down.

"Michael we can make it work okay? I love you, but I have to go. It pays really well, and I could get drafted to the major leagues." Luke said, and Michael nodded.

"You've made it so far." Michael whispered in Luke's ear, and rubbed his back.

Luke looked up at Michael, so the black haired boy wiped the tears away from Luke's eyes. "We haven't spent a day away from each other. How are we gonna survive two months?" Luke asked, and pressed his forehead to Michaels chest.

"We're gonna do it. I love you too much to let you go." Michael whispered.

"Listen, as soon as I'm able to move out there with you, I will." Michael said, and Luke nodded.

"Thank you, Michael."
