"Flight 352 to Los Angeles boarding in fifteen minutes." The announcer called, and Luke felt his eyes fill up with tears.
He snuggled further into Michael's chest, feeling his heart race, but not in a good way.
They didn't get any sleep last night. They wanted to spend every last moment they had together. "Michael.." Luke whispered, clutching onto Michael's arm.
The black haired boy looked down, and felt Luke's breathing quicken.
Karen looked over, noticing that Luke was acting strange.
"Baby, no. Calm down." Michael whispered, holding Luke tight. "We're gonna see each other in no time. Christmas break is gonna be here sooner than you know it, and we're gonna get you the first flight back. Just 60 days." Michael said, and held Luke's head to his chest.
Luke started shaking, and found it hard to breathe.
Michael reached over, and took his moms hand, bringing it over to Luke's. "Squeeze her hand if you can't breathe, okay?" Michael said, and Luke tried to nod, but it was difficult.
Karen would nod every time Luke would squeeze her hand, and Michael would dry Luke's tears, and kiss the corner of his mouth.
Eventually, Luke let go, and just softly cried on Michael's shoulder.
"Flight 352 for Los Angeles is now boarding." The announcer called, and they all stood up.
"Remember, you're brave." Michael said, and kissed Luke's forehead.
"I'll c-call you as soon as I land." Luke said, and Michael smiled.
It was silent for a second before both boys pulled each other into a hug. They pulled back a little before Luke kissed Michael. They didn't care if people saw them as they made out in the crowd.
"Get a room.." Someone mumbled, but Michael just laughed into the kiss, and kept going, enjoying his time with Luke.
"Last call for flight 352 to Los Angeles."
The pulled back, and Luke picked up his stuff.
"I'll see you soon." He whispered, and Michael smiled at him. He held in his tears because he didn't want Luke to see him cry. He had to be brave too.
He let the tears fall freely as he watched Luke walk towards the terminal.
When Luke was out of sight, he turned around, and hugged his mom.
"It's gonna be okay." She whispered.
-
"Hey Michael, my flight just landed, and I'm extremely tired. I know it's like 3 in the morning back home, but I just wanted to tell you I'm okay. I was sitting next to a girl on the plane who helped me when I got anxious. She reminded me a lot of you which really helped. I already miss you, but I'm just one day closer to getting to see you again. Call me when you can. I love you."
Luke sighed, and stepped into the furniture store.
Karen gave him a lot of money to help out with furniture and food. His books and classes were already paid for, so he had more than he needed.
He had a pretty nice apartment. It had 3 bedrooms, a big kitchen, a big living room, and two bathrooms. One of them was connected to his room. So far he was doing okay, but he wishes Michael was there with him.
Luke never really had his own room at Michael's house, so he didn't have anything to be shipped out, so he walked to the comforter section.
He picked out a completely white one so it would match whatever color he wanted his room.
He ended up having a sectional couch, a kitchen table, a king size bed set, and a dresser sent to his place.
He felt his phone buzz in his pocket on the cab ride home, so he quickly got it out.
"Hey babe." He answered, and he heard Michael laugh. "Hi sweetheart. How's LA so far?" Michael asked.
"Good. I just bought a couch, dresser, bed, table, and a comforter." He said.
"Is the apartment good?" He asked, and Luke smiled. "Yeah, definitely. It's a lot bigger than I expected, and one of the walls in my room is just a huge window. It's so pretty." Luke rambled.
"I'm glad you like it. Now remember, eventually, I'm gonna live with you, so when you paint the room, think of me." Michael said, and Luke rolled his eyes. "I want a pretty pink room." He pouted.
"Luke.." Michael whined. "Please? I promise you'll like it." Luke asked hopefully. "Whatever you want." Michael said, giving in.
"Thank you." Luke said, and giggled.
"Hey, I've got to go right now, but I'll FaceTime you later okay?" Michael said, and Luke smiled. "Okay. Bye, I love you."
"I love you too, baby."
