It was Sunday. I went to Sunday school as usual. Vanessa and I waited for Arabella to come and we sat on the staircases. Jess, Debra and Allyson joined us as usual.
As I sat on the staircases, I saw Bryan on my right. He was standing and talking with his friends. The same familiar faces but I don't know his friends before. I didn't even know their names till Bryan introduced me to his friends. That was what he did that I thought was good. I mean, I never had any guy friends before.
Arabella reached the parish hall and we headed to our class. Arabella, Debra and I went to our class together. Bryan and his friends were always the last ones to enter the class. Boys.
The class ended, so we left class and meet up with Vanessa, Jess and Allyson. We sat on the staircases as always. As I was sitting, I got a text from.... an unknown number. I unlocked my phone and read the message.
"Where are you? -- Bryan"
It was Bryan. Who's number he used to send me a text? He was looking for me. "Why would he be looking for me?" I thought to myself. I texted him back,
"I'm here sitting at the staircases. Why?"
A few seconds later...
"Meet me at church."
"Now?" I replied his text.
"Yeah"
He asked me to meet him. I couldn't resist him. I stood up and I said goodbye to Arabella, Vanessa, Jess, Allyson and Debra. I made my way to church. The church was near to the parish hall. I went there and searched for Bryan. I saw Bryan was standing and talking with his friend... wait is that Tyler? I went there and I said, "Hey Bryan"
"Hi El." He replied. I could see that Tyler was looking at me. Maybe he was wondering who I am and how did Bryan know me. I stood there in silence and it was so awkward. I was feeling uncomfortable and shy. I couldn't even talk. I just stood there. Then Bryan continued, "Ellie, this is Tyler and Tyler this is Ellie" He introduced me and Tyler.
I know the guy's name is Tyler. I just pretended that I didn't know his name. I mean, I've seen him before at the mall with his girlfriend, Kimberley. Tyler said, "Hi Ellie. Who's this Bryan? Your girlfriend?"
Bryan chuckled, "No. Just a friend, right El?" Bryan looked at me. I nodded. It's true. We were just friends. Nothing more than that. It's like being friendzoned, right? But nahhh, I wasn't really into Bryan that time. I had no deep feelings for him. We're close and I never thought about having feelings for him. That would be weird. Just kidding. I lied. I do have feelings for him that time, but just a little. Maybe five percent. Make that ten percent.
"Oh really?" Tyler cocked his eyebrow. He looked at Bryan in disbelief. "What?" Bryan said. Tyler then continued, '"Nothing", with one word answer. "You don't believe it?" Bryan asked. Tyler looked at me then he said, "I'm not sure". That was weird. I've said weird so many times.
I talked with Bryan and Tyler. It was fun talking with them. I have a new friend, Tyler. Thanks to Bryan. But, I was not close with Tyler. Not even now. I never talked to him anymore. The friendship lasted for... I don't know, maybe... around four months? five months? I have to admit, Tyler is really annoying. Like seriously. So annoying. How did I even became friends with him? Yeah. I remembered. Bryan told me that he used Tyler's phone to send me a text. Tyler texted me asking who I was. My number was on Tyler's phone. That was how I got Tyler's number.
I remembered that I did talked to Tyler on the phone, once. Just once. It was just a short conversation. Nothing much.
