Youth Camp

YOUTH CAMP

7 - 9 June

After that horrible break up with Frederick, I decided to go to a Youth Camp with Arabella, Vanessa and her friends. It was a three days camp at somewhere far away from where we live. We were transported by a bus and it took 2-3 hours to reach our destination. There were so many people that went to the camp, mostly people that I don't even know. From different schools and different ages. Bryan went to the camp too. He was there and I was there, how awkward. 

June 7, 2013

Day 1 

All of us gathered somewhere at a church hall before leaving the city. We left the city in the morning. It was quite a journey to where we went. It was a long journey and I was sleepy the whole time inside the bus. I couldn't do much. I sat beside Arabella and across of our seats was, Vanessa and her boyfriend, Tyler. Vanessa and Tyler got together way back which was on... I don't exactly remember when. Anyway, so the whole trip was great but there was annoying moments too. 

Tyler. He was SOOOOOOO annoying. I can't even describe in words on how annoying he was. I couldn't stand the way he act during the whole bus trip. I kept on reminding myself to keep calm and stay cool but it still bothered me so much that I wanted to yell at him to stop bothering me. But I couldn't though. 

We arrived at the camp site around 3.00 pm. It was lunch time, and according to the schedule that we were given, lunch time was at 2.00 pm. We were an hour late to the camp site. I was really excited when we finally reached the camp site. It was my first time camping. 

The bad news was, we had to drag our bags up the hills. IT WAS CRAZY! I never been so tired in my entire life. Everything felt heavy and my legs hurt. After that long and tiring dragging our bags up the hills, we finally reached the camp site. I was so tired that I didn't realized that we had to put our bags inside the dorm. When I reached to the dorm, every bed was taken. I had no bed to sleep on. I panicked. I was thinking about where was I supposed to sleep, when there's no bed for me. I tried to keep myself calm but it just bothered me so much that I couldn't concentrate what I should do next. 

One of Vanessa's friend was nice. She offered to share her bed with me. I didn't have to worry about anything anymore. I had a bed to sleep. Thank God. 

After the whole bed problem, my friends and I went to the main site of the camp which was where everyone was gathered together to eat lunch. We were pretty late to the main site of the camp and everyone else was there, sitting and eating. The camp leaders gave us the food and asked us to take our seats. 

I saw a lot of people, mostly people that I don't know and some of them that I know. After lunch was over, the first session of the camp started. It was just a brief about the camp sites and the rules. The rules pretty much, fair. It's normal I guess. I didn't bothered to know any of the rules that was told because I was so tired and sleepy till I couldn't even concentrate. Bryan was there too. He sat with his friends at first but then he sat next to me that night. I just love being beside him, well used to. 

"I wanna sleep" That was all that I could think of. Then, we were told to go back to our dorm and take a shower before the next session start and dinner. Sadly, the boys had to sleep inside a tent. HAHAHA. Lucky for us girls we didn't have to sleep inside a small tent with a lot of people. 

That was when the problem started. Bathroom full. 

Mostly everyone was so fast and the rest of us had to wait for our turns to take a shower. I think my dorm was the worst. I never line up to take a bath in my entire life. I guess that's how camping is all about. Patience. 

I don't even know why some girls took forever inside the bathroom stall. They had been inside there for, I don't know, maybe 3 hours? I'm exaggerating but it felt like three hours. She was in there like forever. I was so fucking pissed off. I need to shower too, not just her. How selfish. 

Then after that, we had our dinner and the second session starts. It was a great first night and I had an awesome night. I learned something.

June 8, 2013

Day 2

I woke up early on that day, hoping that I could take a shower early so that I won't have to wait for anyone anymore. I woke up around 5.30 am. I thought I was early, but I was not. Everyone else woke up earlier than me. Sigh. I had to wait in a line again. 

After that, my friends and I went to the main camp site and had our breakfast. The food was great, but I'm not the type of person that eat breakfast so I forced myself to eat. We need energy to get through the day. 

 After eating breakfast, the third session started. Morning session. We read and learned about the Bible. We had our "Night Walk" where we were led on a walk in darkness with only candles. At each particular station, there would be a bible characters (Cain, Isaac, Moses, David and Mother Mary) that will share concerns and struggles of their time. The session proceeded with The Healing Session and the infilling of the Holy Spirit as the last session at the camp site before leaving. The whole session was very interesting and we had a great night. I was able to sleep well that night and I thanked God for a great day. 

June 9, 2013 

Day 3, Last Day of camp. 

 I woke up earlier on this day, at 5.00 am. No one was awake yet. I was glad that I was able to take a shower first and I didn't have to wait for anyone else. Then my friends and I went to the main camp site and we had our breakfast. Breakfast was great. We had our last session before leaving, and we took group photos together. It was the best camping experience I ever had.

Hello! There are more of what happened during camp  but I was having difficulty and I didn't know how to explain it in words but I tried. Hahaha. This was the only part of the story that I managed to explain in words :)
