Once upon a time there was an angel His job was to watch over the humans transitioning from life to death. One day he came across a boy who made his heart beat - he was beautiful and his soul was stunningly blinding. The angel watched the first 20 years of the boy's life with a fondness - feeling his heart yearn to know the boy and his beautiful soul. However he felt the gut wrenching stab of the fact that his death was catching up with him. The angel felt his heart break for the beautiful soul that had to die so young.

So, on the day of the boy's death a tree came hurtling down towards him - the impact would kill him. The angel didn't think, he vanished from heaven and appeared on earth to save the boy. When their eyes connected for the first time it was like magic. The angel knew he'd do anything to protect that boy and make him happy from then on. The boy had thanked the angel for saving his life and proceeded to get to know the other.

For the first few years of knowing each other the angel tried to keep what he did a secret as he wasn't supposed to mess with the balance of nature. Within that time he fell in love with the boy and the boy fell for the angel. They formed an unbreakable bond and an all-consuming love. The angel named the boy his 'bear' whilst the boy named the angel his 'lion'.

However their happiness only lasted 5 years because the archangels finally found out what the angel had done and his forbidden interaction with a human. The archangel appeared to the boy and the angel to punish and even out the balance of nature - he cursed them. The angel's powers were taken from him as well as his wings as he was not allowed to return to heaven for his sins.

The curse was made to torture the angel as he and his lover were to be re-incarnated forever yet only the angel could remember their lives together. The angel lived 10 centuries of trying to find his bear and re-unite with him. Luckily every re-incarnation he was left with a small pocket of power. He used this power to put all of his and bear's memories of their past lives into their first kiss. That way when he and bear kissed again in the next life they could remember every life they had had together.

Every century the angel turned 15, he would remember every life he'd had with his bear and yearn for his lover all over again. At the same time a dagger appeared on his chest above his heart. This dagger could be used if the angel decided to end their love. Then he would take the dagger, kill himself and be welcomed back into the gates of heaven. However he'd never see his bear again and the boy would die for good in his last human life. The angel was determined never to use it as he'd search for his bear forever.

Phil's heart hurt. It had been hurting since he'd turned 15 and remembered his lost Bear. He had learned how to control the ache over the thousand years of loving his Bear and it only left when they were re-united again. Phil continued on with his life, hoping that he'd meet the boy along the way. He felt frustrated every time he tried to search for his lover as he could never remember his face until they met again for the first time in their new life. 

Over the centuries Phil had taken up many professions and had thousands of centuries of experience to let him live his life comfortably. School was no problem with his vast knowledge at 15 and being an ex angel left him with his bewitching good looks and kind aura which seemed to attract others and gain him many friends. 

Phil was always excited about how the world had progressed and was completely thrilled when the humans had invented technology. It was his 11th century on earth and he wanted to become a radio presenter. He found it fun interacting with human's new creations and with every human that interacted with his show. He worked hard to make a good life so when he found his Bear again they could live comfortably and happily.
