Graduation practice took up about three-fourths worth of the school day, otherwise meaning that Cal, Adrianne and I had been sitting in the auditorium for about two and half hours now.

Currently, we were half-assedly listening to the vice principal throw directions at us of what aisle to walk down and which set of steps to climb and how they weren't recommending girls wear killer high-heels unless they were willing to suffer face planting onto the ground on graduation day - I was practically waiting for them give us strict orders on what laundry detergent we should use to wash our gowns - Tide or Downy?

"His voice literally makes me want to dive into the Bermuda triangle," Calum whined from beside me, nudging his chin towards the stage in front of us where Mr. Kalusky was still speaking into a microphone.

To my right, Adrianne snorted, "When I first heard him speak during freshman orientation I thought he smoked three packs a day."

"Do either of you even know what a filter is?" I whispered at the two siblings in annoyance. It was difficult to believe that they were step-siblings and not actually related by blood. Cal and Adrianne were both the type of kids who were a hundred percent reckless - they acted without contemplation and spoke without thinking. I had this theory that one day, one of them was gonna end up getting jumped by a gang or something for saying something stupid. I was just waiting to see which one of the two it happened to be.

"'Course I know what a filter is," Calum shrugged and poked his full and pink bottom lip out. He leaned over in his seat a little to look past me at his sister, eyebrows raised, "It's what Adri uses a shitton of on her selfies to make her not look like a goat's ass."

I gasped while Adrianne infamously narrowed her eyebrows into a V, like she did every time Calum said something to spike her blood pressure - I couldn't have taken the hint any quicker. Instinctively, I shot my hands out in front of the blonde to keep her from lunging at the brunette, dark-skinned boy on the other side of me. The fact that I was already used to this routine was pathetic. Jesus.

"I'm gonna decapitate your damn head from your body with a pair of school scissors, wait till' we get home," Adri hissed through gritted teeth, causing Calum to crack up. I swatted at his shoulder to shut him up, not wanting to attract any of the security guards and teachers surrounding us.
