❝Who're you?❞
❝Fallon. I'm your candy striper for the next two months. Who are you?❞
❝I'm a lonely, incredibly depressed, cancer-inflicted, dying, nineteen year old boy.❞
❝Nice to meet you, a-lonely-incredibly-depressed-cancer-inflicted-dying-ninete...
when it gets hard, you know it can get hard sometimes.
it is the only thing that makes us feel alive.
so you can keep me inside the pocket of your ripped jeans,
holding me closer til' our eyesmeet,
you won't ever be alone.
wait for me to come home.

fallon.
I exhaled deeply as the car finally rolled up into the hospital parking garage and came to a stop towards the balcony overlooking the city. It felt like I'd been holding my breath in since I sat down and buckled myself up.
Calum cleared his throat and started to drum his fingers against the wheel, after pulling the keys out of the ignition. "You're positive you don't want me to wait for you?"
My car was due for an oil exchange today so I'd called Adrianne hoping she'd be able to drop me off at the hospital so I could finally talk to Luke, but apparently having her toenails painted before Rome held a higher ranking on her priorities list for the day. That being said, she sought that as a perfect opportunity for me and Calum to get in a car together and sort our balls out, whatever that was supposed to mean.
To keep a long, long, dreadful twenty-five-minute car ride story short, no balls were sorted out. Just silence. And Bruno Mars on the radio, the entire ride.
"I'll be fine," I murmured, quickly unbuckling my seatbelt and grabbing my bag from beneath the passenger's seat. "My mom can drive me home once she's done with her shift. I'll be a while, anyway."
"Fal, hold on," Cal sighed and leaned over to latch onto my forearm, squeezing. Ignoring him, I wiggled myself out of his grasp and moved to pull the door open, only to find that it wouldn't move. He'd locked me in.
I grunted in annoyance and turned over my shoulder to scowl at him, my eyes narrowed bitterly. Aggravation was practically spilling from out of my eyes. "Open the goddamn door, Calum."
"I'm not letting you go until we actually talk-"
"Do you know how hard it was for me to just sit here and refrain myself from angrily clawing your eyes out? I don't want to talk to you. Let me out."
