Tamaran has been destroyed three times in the nearly 36 years since it's been introduced into the DC Comics universe; it was destroyed the first time in New Titans #128 in 1995 and Starfire's parents were killed because they refused to evacuate and abandon the planet. Those Tamaraneans who survived the destruction of their beloved planet survived because they were off planet at the time of the Psion's attack - these survivors included Queen Komand'r, Princess Koriand'r , Prince Ryand'r, and General Ph'yzzon. The total number of survivors came to 500,000 Tamaranean citizens.

Queen Komand'r led her people to the planetless moon Jalascis and settled there to begin a new life after christening the moon 'New Tamaran.'

But just as  the Tamaranean people were growing new roots and becoming accustomed to their lives again, New Tamaran was destroyed when Sun-Eater consumed their planet [see Final Night].  How many Tamaraneans survived this destruction is unknown but Princess Koriand'r was among those who were lucky enough to count their lives as being intact.  Koriand'r's husband, General Ph'yzzon, and many more of her people perished because they did not heed her warning when she told them that they needed to leave the planet.  Their army was decimated when they disappeared while leading a confrontation against the Sun-Eater, with none left to warn their people of what was to come.

Princess Koriand'r attempted to warn Tamaran of the oncoming danger that the Sun-Eater posed to them and their new planet, which was perceived by Queen Komand'r  as her sister attempting to steal her crown from her. She then banished her sister from their planet - this was, ultimately, the reason why Princess Koriand'r survived and made it back to Earth.

The remaining Tamaranean people wandered the galaxy and Kory's brother Ryand'r finally helped them settle onto the Gordanian home planet Karna and after quite a few battles, Garth of Shayeris (who was on planet to help Kory and her brother gain control of the situation) convinced the Gordanians and Tamaraneans to live in peace with one another [see the chapter titled "Relocation and the Gordanian War"].

Later, Karna was also destroyed, leaving the Tamaraneans once again homeless and forcing them to wander the stars in search for a new home to settle on.
