Gravity Defiant

Chapter 5

I was shocked. Nobody sat next to the king. Nobody. Not even the queen. The boy stood up. He looked about my age. He was attractive. Very attractive But like nobody I've seen before. I had to stare, even though I knew it was rude. I caught a glimpse of jack. He was standing in the corner with his head and arms on his staff. I thing he scolded and mumbled something under his breath.

But I kept staring. The room grew silent. His hair glistened, but it was just as black as ink. His skin wasn't as pale as everyone else's, and he stood out among everyone. He walked over to me and reached out his hand. A grin formed over his face. At first I didn't know what he wanted. I stared at the hand he held out to me. I think he said something, but I'm not sure.

I cleared my head. Everyone was watching. "What was that?" laughter up roared in the room. "Hi my name is Hoop. It's a pleaser to meet you princess." His voice was clear and his accent wasn't like the annoying councils. It was smooth and sounded good on his lips.

I shook his hand. It was really soft, he then kissed mine. I could tell that Jack was pretty upset about this. I sat down. I could barley eat. I was super confused. Where did this mysterious boy come from? What was so important about him? What did my dad see in him? After breakfast, I started heading to my room when Hoop stopped me. He was about 30 feet away. His hands were in his pockets. He was wearing black skinny jeans, a tshirt, and over that, a leather jacket with his hood on. His smile was mesmerizing.

"I just wanted to let you know how beautiful you are. I've never seen a creature like you. " He stepped closer. I turned back to face him. I raised my eyebrow before speaking. "Where the hell did you come from?" his smile disappeared into a grin that was glued to his face. "Somewhere beyond this world." I made a face. "Why does the king," i corrected myself," my dad like you?" what did I see in this boy? I needed to stop thinking about him. "I guess I just appeal to everyone." Jack interrupted us. "Hey we need to talk. " He told me.

I held his hand and we walked towards the the hallway that lead to my room. I looked back for a second. He had the same grin on his face. It seems weird that the whole time I never saw his wings.... "ok I did some research on black lightning," I said " it was created by Sin Marvel"

"But he's dead" said jack

"Ya but the crazy thing is that Nobody can make it but him"

"That's really weird" I was pacing back and forth, my wings flapping In Frustration. "I don't like that guy" said Jack. "He will be gone soon don't worry" I think he's a really big suck up. But i didn't admit it to Jack. His ego would just go up. He brushed my hair out of my face, and smiled. Leaving fluttering butterflies in my stomach. Unlike hoops smile, Jack's wasn't the kind that makes you think he's up to something.

He brushed his lips on mine. His hands were cuffed in my face, and he rubbed his thumb on my cheek bone. I fell asleep soon after that. I tried to figure out this....Hoop character. What did he want? I heard voices and footsteps close to my door. I jumped out of my bed. My wings grew larger and my feathers covered my body, ready for a fast flight.

As I looked through the small hole in the door, the voices grew louder. I Couldn't see anything but black inky darkness. the voices still remained. One sounded familiar, the other I couldn't recall. Then they just stopped. The quietness was too quiet. I turned back to head to my bed, when i saw that my window was mysteriously opened. A dark figure was standing right in front of me. And their grin sent chills up my spine.
