Chapter 13

Hoop left me in the cave. Alone. With only my thoughts as company. My head dropped to the floor, leaving my autumn hair falling freely to the dry ground. I closed my eyes. How could this happen? how could I let this happen?

My parents had to be looking for me. I remembered how one day Siverous and Clove had gotten lost in the forest. It was snowing, and very cold. They managed to sneak out of the castle because they were playing hide and seek with Cliff, Poseidon, and Breanna. My parents had a mental break down, and sent almost a third of the guards and warriors out to search for them. When they found them, huddled and close to getting hypothermia, they grounded them for months.

I couldn't imagine what they would do now.

My hands were tied to my back so I couldn't produce water. I was so thirsty. I started to slowly fall into a deep sleep, when I heard a rock zoom my way, hitting my head, and sending blood flying. I growled at the source.

"Wake up!" yelled a voice. I turned my head and sat up. Sin was standing about 10 meters away.

"What do you want?" I sneered, "what could you possibly want from me?"

"Everything. See, your different from the others sweetheart. Have you ever wondered why you were born with autumn colored hair, instead of white or blue? or why you have a bending gift? you are their light source. Without you, they all die. Leaving us to take over. To rule. To destroy." I was speechless. Was I really their light source? the only reason why the kingdom thrived? why I was different? No, he couldn't be trusted. He could be trying to brainwash me. But then again... why would he waist his time?

I lowered my head. "I will never give you what you want." I growled.

"I thought you might say that. But before you make that decision, I'd think hard about it, if i were you." And he vanished.

What is that suppose to mean? I was firm and clear. If I don't give him what he wants, the kingdom will be safe; but if I don't...they could all be gone. I guess I could agree, I'm the spark. The one that lights the fire. Without me, there would be no fire. I thought about this for a while. Then my thoughts began to wonder towards Jack. I totally forgot about him. His situation. Where was he? what do they want with him?

I tried to let my wings out. It hurt, like nothing I've felt before. My wings have never not came out. It was practically impossible. Well, I'm very weak so maybe that's why.

I heard footsteps. Hoop appeared in the doorway. "Well look who's awake. He moved closer, and approached me. He grabbed my chin, but before he could say anything, I spat on him. He fell back in disgust. "We need to teach you manners love." He said angrily as he wiped away my saliva.

I heard more footsteps and moaning? two ghostly figures reveled themselves by the entrance. Hoop glanced at them and looked strait at me with a smirk. The black figures held tight onto Jack.

I tried to get up and run towards him yelling, "Jack!" screaming actually. Tears ran down my face. But some sort of force pulled me back, as the shadows stepped forward. It was Hoop. "You sick bastard! wait till I get my hands on you-"

"Now, now honey. We don't need to be like that." Jack's head was lowered. He was scared and bruised all over his body. I can't imagine what they did to him. The shadows silver eyes looked at Hoop, and he dismissed them. For now. Without something to balance him up, Jack fell right on the floor, on his knees.

I let out a whimper. It hurt me to see him like this. Hoop looked at me and grinned. He knelt down beside me. I closed my eyes and breathed hard. Trying to keep the tears from falling.

"Now," he whispered,"do you want to rethink that?" I opened my eyes, that were full of anger and hate. I looked him directly in the eye. "What do you want?"

He grinned, "join me." I looked away. He summoned the shadows to take Jack again. I looked at him, and he looked back and shook his head. I could tell what he wanted to say. No don't do it. He doesn't understand though.

I have to.

Hoop untied me. He stood. "Now, if you don't join me, you will never see your boyfriend again. Understand?" I nodded my head. "Good." He reached out his hand. Just like he did when I first met him. I grabbed it.

The strangest feeling overcame my body. It felt like electricity. Except horrible. It stung my body and I began to whimper. He let go of me. Then he grinned. "You look better with black hair." He said. What?! I gave him a confused look. He rolled his eyes at me. And a small mirror appeared in his hands.

When I looked in the mirror, I couldn't believe my eyes. My autumn colored hair turned as black as Hoops. And my eyes. My irises were half black! Just like Hoops, but his were full. "My eyes" I whispered. I gasped and stumbled back. I felt it, it was still soft, but I hated it. "What happened why did it turn that color?"

"That's what you get for joining the dark side." He said with a smile.
