Chapter 12

That bastard lead me into one of his stupid traps. But it was my fault for falling in, I was the stupid one for taking the bait. In this situation, I would be prey while Hoop, predator; I was a wounded gazelle, he was the hungry lion. And we both knew who would win this battle.

I lunged myself toward Hoop. Clawing at the air hoping I would manage to scratch his eyes out. But he vanished as soon as I got inches from his body. "Feisty one." Sin commented, while half grinning. His voice was deep. It had an evil hidden in it. One that I was desperately wanting to get away from. I haven't been this scared, since Jack almost died. And yet, in both situations, I'm not scared for me.

"What the hell do you want from me?!" I yelled, "I'm of no use to you."

"Oh but you are," replied Hoop. "In more ways then you think." I was about ready to draw some of that water from the cracks of the rocks, so I can smash it on the both of them, but I wasn't strong enough yet.

Hoop held out a hand, "join me." He whispered. I stated out at his hand. Just like I did the first day we met. We were complete strangers. And now, we are still just that. He kidnapped me. He freakin kidnapped me. He took me from my home, and placed me in this...hell hole. I'm not surprised if that was really were I was.

I doubt it because its cool down here. Light breezes licked my dry skin. Making me slightly shiver. Dark angels can't live in the cold for long. They would die. Then I got a hold of myself and answered: "Over my. Dead. Body."

Big mistake.

"That can be arranged."

I was brutally taken to a different section of the dark cave. Hoop's hand was cuffed over my sweatshirt, so tight that he pretty much had to drag me to the location. I hadn't seen his father for a couple hours, and was wondering if he was producing black lightning. I shouldn't of been so nigh-eve. I should of saw this coming. From the first time I met Hoop, to the black lightning.

I knew he was trouble. He didn't have the normal white or blue hair. His was black. Different. Like my sunset autumn hair. A gift, yet a curse.

We stumbled down stone steps that must have been over hundreds of years old. They were cracked and scared, from who knows what. "You can stay here until you've learned to do as your told." He said in rage. He finally let go of his hard grip.

I pulled up my sweat shirt when I felt a stinging sensation. The arm Hoop had possession of, now was covered in small black veins. I gasped. Then I watched as they quickly faded.

Hoop was standing in the middle of the area. Stone outlined the walls and floor, making me feel more claustrophobic then ever. I knew we were underground. And I absolutely hatted it. The smell, the feel, the thought. Angels were meant to fly. I, was meant to fly. And Hoop found my weakness. He was this close to breaking me. First with water, and no humidity, now he's basically cutting my wings. What could possibly be next?

Then I thought about it. I thought carefully. Oh shit.

Hoop started moving his hands counterclockwise. A giant globe appeared right in front of him. It was pretty, in sorts. A gold rim that held a crystal clear ball on top.

Then movement appeared inside. He stepped back so I could clearly see what was going on. My eyes adjusted to the sudden light. And I couldn't believe my eyes:

Jack sat on my bed, staring out the window with his hand on his head. He looked so worried, confused, and sad. Emotion poured out of his icy eyes, yet I couldn't seem to read it.

I could barley make out the two dark figures approaching him. There was no way they could be anyone. They weren't. They were black clouds of...shadows! Hoop grinned at me wickedly as he saw what I witnessed. The black shadows wrapped themselves around Jack. Sucking him in their grasp. Their dementing pure silver eyes glowed with determination as they suffocated my love.

All I saw was Jack fall quietly to the ground. I screamed and sprinted towards the glass. I was about ready to pound on it. Hoping Jack would come out, and wrap his arms around me, and be safe. But the globe disappeared, leaving me to fall to my knees and cry.

Before I remembered Hoop was watching me, with satisfaction in his eyes, I got up and wiped the stray tears from my face.

"What are you?" I asked, anger raged in my voice and my hands to my side, fists clenched.

"Your worst nightmare."

Classic.
