Chapter 18

That morning, I got up and said hello to my family. They were so happy to see me. Clove just couldn't stop starring at my hair and asking questions like "will it be that way forever?" We had a celebration in my honor.

But I was depressed the whole day. Week actually. I still can believe what happened. Guards and warriors were sent to go and find Hoop, Sin, and Jack. They searched the cave that they kidnapped me in. Nothing but a note:

Dust,

I hope we run into each other soon. You need to be taught manners about running away. Know this: I will find you and I will have you. And I always get what I want. Even if a slip up like this delayed me. I presume that your eyes are back to normal? if so they won't be staying that way for long. Oh I almost forgot, Jack says hi. We have become very, very fond of each other, and he's looking forward to... destroying you too. Ta-ta for now love.

What sick person would do that? oh ya Hoop. I didn't want to do anything but sleep. I wanted to dream. To shut the world out forever.

But in my world. That's not possible.

It's now been a year. I haven't heard anything from Hoop, Sin, or Jack. No black lightning. Nothing.

I decided to take Skye out for a fly. It was wonderful. The breeze hitting my face. Beautiful. We passed Afrodide's cliff. I cried at the sight of it. So powerful looking and magnificent. It was me and Jack's 'first date'. When I learned I could heal with my gift....

I got back at late evening, just in time for dinner. We all sat down and began the usual routine, when a panicked guard came rushing through the door.

"They are back." I looked at my parents, who looked at me. They knew exactly who they was for sure.

"Let the battle begin." I whispered.
