Chapter Eight

Rye Calling...

Napatingin siya sa wall clock ng kanyang kitchen. It says that it's just one in the afternoon.

"Hello." She greeted gently.

Where are you?

"Here in my villa, why?" Marahan niyang inilapag sa counter ang hawak na baso.

Wala naman. Natanong ko lang.

Natigilan siya. "Wait. Hindi ba dapat flight mo na ngayon?"

Yup. He said way too cheerful.

Is he up to something again?

"Then why are you still calling me?" Nagtatakang tanong niya. Isa pa, mamayang gabi ay magkikita rin naman sila.

Actually... He paused. You might want to check out your door step.

Naguguluhan na talaga siya, what is happening?

"What do you mean?"
She gently slid out of the bar stool.

Why don't you see it for yourself? He playfully said.

Puno ng kuryosidad niyang tinungo ang pinto ng kanyang villa. Her phone still clutched on her ear, she opened the door slowly.

To say she is shock is an understatement. She is beyond shock! And she can't even think of a nice word to describe how shock she is right now...

Because standing right infront of her is Rye looking so handsome in his tight fitting jeans and black shirt. His messy hair suits him well.

"W... what are you doing here?" Tanong niya nang bahagyang makabawi sa pagkakagulat.
But still a bit stunned of what's happening.

He grinned widely as he end the call. Doon lang din niya napansing nakalapat pa ang cellphone niya sa kanyang kaliwang tenga kaya ibinaba na din niya ito.

"Nandito ako para sunduin ang aking date." Malapad ang ngiti nito na akala mo ay binigyan ng paborito nitong pagkain ng libre at unlimited supply.

"It's too early Rye, besides I'm not dressed yet." Mahinahong paliwanag niya.
She still can't get over with the fact that he is actually here, in her doorstep while he should be abroad in the first place! Looking like one of those GQ models.

Well... he is a GQ model after all.

He scanned her from head to foot. "That will do. Come on, let's go."

Hinigit siya nito at wala na siyang nagawa kundi magpatianod sa panghihila nito.

Napatingin siya sa sarili, naka-ue printed na sando lang siya at white denim shorts. Mabuti na lang at may suot siyang puting pull over kahit papano.

Literal na nakapambahay lang talaga siya. Mabuti na lang at maayos pa ang suot niyang slippers.

He opened the car door for her. She muttered a soft thanks and slid in.
Napatingin siya sa kanyang cellphone, atleast nadala niya pa ito.

"How did you get inside the villa proper?" She asked as he drove their way out of the villas.

"Connections." He shrugged. "You know, when your cousin is a member here." He said talking about Ianna.

She nodded gently. Okay. Wala nga palang makakahindi sa pagiging persistent ng isang Rye Vasquez.
Nang tuluyan na silang nakalabas ng Belladona ay binalingan niya ang binata.

"I hope we're going to somewhere private." She muttered softly. Napayuko siya at pinaglaruan ang kanyang mga daliri. "Nakapambahay lang ako, nakakahiya." She admitted shyly.
