Chapter Sixteen
She look out of the window, it's been four days since she caught Rye cheating.
Over those days, she cried... a lot.
Please when things get hard, always put in your mind that I love you. Held on to that.
She smiled bitterly, remembering Rye's words. How can she held on to that love now?
She trusted him wholeheartedly, but he messed things up. Now that trust is shattered.
With those questions, she can't find her rational side now.
"Come in." She said softly.
A certain Paul Castillo."
That name felt nostalgic. It bring bittersweet memories.
"Uh. It's okay ma'am, I can tell him that you're busy..."
Marahan siyang umiling. "Send him in my office, I'll be there in a bit."
Tumango ito at marahang isinara ang pinto.
Ano kaya ang kailangan nito? It's been ages, but his name still held this bittersweet feeling.
She fixed herself as she went out and proceeded in her office.
Paul Castillo was her almost. Almost... in love, almost... together, almost him for the rest of their lives. Their's was a love that never happened. There was a 'you and me' but never an 'us'.
"Therine!" Masiglang bati nito.
She look at him and smiled. He still look like that chinito boy next door when they're in college but this time he looks way matured. His chinito eyes almost forming a line as he smile at her.
"This is a surprise." She uttered as she guide him to the couch. Umupo siya paharap dito.
"I know it's been a long time. Say what, five years? Nice finally seeing you again, Therine." He said sincerely.
She smiled at that, he was a dear friend back then.
"I know we didn't have a good farewell with each other." He smiled sheepishly talking about the last time they saw each other.
"That's all in the past now." She said softly.
She'd rather be a friend.
