"Who cares what you were when you were younger? It's who you grew into that makes you who you are."

~ Danny Fenton (Danny Phantom)

:Oliver:

My mother's wedding was tomorrow.

The entire week she had been hectic, running around Chad's apartment with flower orders and catering menus. I had just come from the rehearsal, four hours after school of standing around while she organized where everyone was supposed to go. I got to walk my mother down the aisle, so I needed to spend a long time practicing that short walk. My grandparents died when mom was young, so I was walking her down instead of her dad.

After the rehearsal, they weren't allowed to see each other until the wedding tomorrow afternoon. Something about wedding superstition or whatnot. They were also having their bachelorette and bachelor parties respectively tonight, so I was left alone in the apartment.

I decided patrolling the streets was a perfect way to blow off some steam.

I was stressed, that much was obvious. My mother was getting married tomorrow, and The Obstructer was supposed to show up to the wedding as a way to try and catch me in public. Of course, The Obstructer could be Chad, as MASKED told us he was one of their suspects. That would mean that he wants us to show up so he could discern who out of his guests were supers in disguise. If The Obstructer wasn't someone we knew, then that meant he already knew our identities and was mocking us with the wedding invitation.

If The Obstructer was actually Chad, then we'd have some serious issues to deal with. For one, my mother was in love with him. How was I supposed to tell her that her soon to be husband was a maniac who wanted to destroy the supers? Also, how was I supposed to catch him at the wedding without revealing my identity? The less villains who knew my identity, the better.

And, if he wasn't Chad, then we'd also have some problems. That meant Nicole told him our identities. Nicole, despite claiming to be loyal to her employer, didn't trust him. It was why she never told him our identities. But, if somehow she broke that promise, we were in serious trouble. The Obstructer got rid of Captain Impossible and countless other supers, and we were next on the list. I had a feeling his big endgame plan was centered in DC, and we were the only ones here left to stop him. We needed to go.

Not to mention, my Biochemistry teacher was a super villain as well. It was no wonder he hadn't been at work for the past few weeks. It was assumed he had been on vacation, but now I knew better. I don't know why he would make himself a super, or how he got to the point of trying to make others like him. Whatever he had done to himself to become a Beast, it must've messed with his psych as well. It wasn't his fault he was a big scary villain.

Not to mention, Midnight was still missing. She only ever attacked me once, and once was enough for me. Maybe she stopped trying to kill me after realizing I could destroy her shadows with electricity. Or maybe Aden injured her when he threw that tree at her. Either way, I was really hoping she'd stay away. Midnight's shadow visions were something I did not want to live through again.

I was just hanging around on top of an apartment building when Eric alerted me to a possible break in.

"The silent alarms at the DC branch of Paramount Pharmaceuticals packaging warehouse were just triggered. It could be another newly made super mad at the company for making them a super."

I sighed. "But, didn't those pills get recalled? Why would someone be acting now? I mean – Elise got her powers right before they were recalled and immediately started going after them."

There was an audible groan from the other side of the mic. "Dude, not everyone is as much of an inner badass as your girlfriend. Besides, what if they just discovered their powers, huh? It's a good possibility, and even if it wasn't a new super, it could still be a parent or something mad at the company. Either way, an attack on them is our business. Go check it out."
