Part XXI: Good Morning

(Her thoughts)

Ethan's friend, Anton, was already waiting for us when we came in. They have been good friends since they met each other when they were younger. Anton lives four houses away from them and he's six years older. Because of his work and Ethan's playing schedule, they rarely see each other unlike before. He led us into a conference room since he wanted to show us the video before giving us the copy.

"I haven't had the chance to watch his game. I owe this guy a lot so I told him I'll edit your shoot. I loved the way you looked with that floral dress," he smiled and told me.

Ethan tapped him at the back. "You sure do owe me for not watching a single game when your Dad's been cheering wildly for the past three games."

It looked a whole lot better than I have expected. It wasn't that sunny when we shot it but he was able to make it appear as if the sun was just behind us, adding a lighting effect that beautiful afternoon.   After the video, he added a video credit, showing what the others on the background were doing. I saw one part when we came out of the dressing room and Ethan was mesmerized. His face was amazed, his smile forming, his mouth open but words wouldn't come out. And while we were shooting, the rest of the members in the background were laughing, playing, and chasing each other. Ethan was near the director and he was quietly looking on one specific direction.

"Did you like it?" Anton asked us after he turned on the light and off the projector.

Lorraine smiled at him. "Just perfect."

"You're forgiven now man," Ethan laughed. "Don't miss the next one."

I looked at Ethan. I don't know where exactly he was looking while we were doing the video, I don't know what he was thinking but he was just as mesmerized as he was since we walked out of that room as what I saw on the video. Anton forced him to stay for dinner but he declined so he can send me home.

"I'll be fine. I can take a cab and be home in a few minutes. Stay here for dinner," I told him.

"C'mon, your lady agreed to leave you on my hands. We haven't talked in a while."

"I have to send you home," Ethan told me. Allie and Lorraine already left.

"You're not my school bus driver. Stay, okay?" I smiled at him.

"Why don't you just join us if Ethan doesn't want you to leave without him?" Anton asked me.

"Guys talk. It's better if I'm not here. Just see me out until I get a cab. I'll call you once I'm home," I convinced him.

He finally agreed of seeing me out of the office until I was able to get a cab. When I got home, I received two messages. One was from Allie, the other from Ethan.

He sure was staring. You could've melted.

From: Ethan Yu

You really look good in that video.

Does this mean he was staring the whole time... AT ME?

To: Ethan Yu

Thanks. I'm home now.

The following day was one of their community service days. They would go to a city to help in a school cleaning activity and would teach kids in reading. She didn't sleep well the night before thinking too much of what happened. It was a petty argument and Ethan was very persistent to make her feel better. Whenever she and her ex argue, she rarely got pursued.
