Part XXVIII: One of the Guys, One of the Guys' Girl
"Cheers!"
They raised their glasses and made a toast. They were at World Music KTV in Greenhills that night to celebrate. It had been a very good and exciting series of game that they had and friends were excited with the seventh game that would take place in the next few days after Ethan and his team won with a 10 point lead.
Ethan, Seff, Seb, Jed, Philip, Marco, PJ, Justin, Jill, Carla, and Angela arrived first while Allie and Raffy arrived at least after an hour. Allie wasn't supposed to go but she and Seb had been good buddies since the championship started and he invited her. When she got the call from him, she agreed right away and drove all the way to Greenhills from Alabang to be with them. He introduced them to the rest.
Ethan sat beside Raffy. "I didn't know you were coming."
She smiled and whispered to him. "I didn't expect it either. Congratulations to your success."
"We're still one game away," he said and handed her the menu. "Do you want to eat?"
"Have you eaten?"
"I did. We ordered a decent meal before you arrived and we ate" he said. "Let me get you some food."
He went outside and ordered food for her. An attendant came in shortly bringing the food. He ordered her burger and fries, added some seafood and nachos.
She held his chin and faced him towards her. "You're making me eat mussels?"
"Yes. It's good especially if it's topped with cheese and garlic. This is one of the best they have. I tried it earlier."
"Super yuck," she said. "I don't eat mussels. Like no, never at all. When I tried it when I was younger, I ended up at the hospital because of allergies. Unless you're willing to bring me there, I could try some."
"No, no, no. I'm sorry I didn't know. Don't eat that. Let's give this to Allie," he apologized. "Do you want anything else?"
"I'm fine. Don't worry about my tummy."
She decided to eat the burger she requested for. She was also feeding him while she was eating.
"Try this," she said, offering him nachos after putting in some sliced shrimp to it.
"You're not eating. I ordered this for you. Why are you making me eat them?" he said and restrained her wrist.
"Because I want to. You ordered a lot so you have to consume them," she said.
"I already ate," he said.
"I want you to eat again."
It was a very good night. They were sitting close to each other, whispering then laughing and drinking. She doesn't know what she has for him and she doesn't know what he thinks of her. She knows that she's not doing things right but it just felt good. She wanted to just feel free and do whatever she wants to do. She wanted to ask him about Emily but stopped herself from doing so.
They were whispering when Seff handed her the mic.
"Sing."
"What?"
"Sing," he said.
"What will I sing?"
"Your choice," he shrugged.
"We're still talking. I'll sing later," she declined.
"Sing," he still insisted.
Ethan gave her a look that told her to go ahead and give in to his request. She took the book from him, chose from the list of songs, and typed it in. She found a song that she recently learned though it wasn't that famous but fell in love with the lyrics when she heard it.
