( Jasmine )
Eleni and I got into the lavish limo that had been waiting on us when we walked to the airports VIP garage. The chauffeur held the doors open for us and we got in, but I made sure to thank him before I did. Manners should always matter after all. As we drove through the city, I gazed out the window trying to get myself together. I was terrified of seeing Laurent again and something deep in my soul was saying don't go. I spoke to Eleni while still staring out the window. "What if Laurent doesn't want me anymore? ...What if it's been to long with any contact? I know that Laurent loves me but I also know that he can't go forever without physical contact. I'm pretty sure he's already slept with someone even if the very idea hurts me, I cannot blame him..." I wasn't really looking for an answer, just wanted to get the words out my head since they been spinning around for months. There was no doubt in my mind that Laurent slept with other women. It's just even though I knew it, that didn't make it hurt any less. "I won't sit here and lie to you Jasmine. Yes, Laurent may have found comfort in between a woman's legs but Laurent has never let any of them in his heart. I doubt that Laurent will ever stop wanting you. You just might have to break down a few barriers he put up is all." I dragged my gaze from the window to Eleni. She seemed so tired, like she hadn't slept in awhile. I wondered if the twins had been working her nonstop. I hoped not. "Can we go get something to eat before you take me to Laurent? I haven't had anything all day and my stomach is killing me." Her laugh was carefree and she just told me okay. Eleni told the chauffeur to take us to the nearest diner. I stared out the window once more, and said a silent prayer that Laurent would still love me.
We came to a stop at a homey little blue shack whose sign read Mama Ds Kitchen. I loved mom and pop places so I was eager to go inside. I sort of dragged Eleni out the car and inside with me, she only laughed trying to keep up. As soon as the doors opened, I was hit with the smell of fresh cinnabons. Yup, we were definitely eating here. We sat down at a rounded glass table with a silk black checkered covering over it. The place was packed. Every table seemed to be filled with laughing people and children were everywhere. I always felt at home with places like this, I didn't even mind the loudness of it. It reminded me of a family Sunday dinner. A handsome young man who seemed to be Cherokee asked for our orders. When we placed them, I watched him leave. It was rare to see any of them away from the reservations, that made me feel like this place was surely priceless. Eleni and I spoke about what went on in the past seven months I've been away. She told me how Larry and Laurent moved in together and that they toured nonstop. She also told me that about how Larry would make her ignore any request that came from Florida. So that's why she looked so tired, she was working nonstop creating workshops. I wonder how Larry knew I was in Florida? After all, that's the only reason I could come up with for him specifying Florida. The waiter brought out food to the table and I thanked him. Geez, his responding smile was gorgeous. I blushed and looked away. It's been far to long since I had any attention like that and I really should not encourage it.
When we were done and we're getting ready to leave, the waiter gave me a slip of paper then left to take care of another table. "What's that Jass?" I shook my head, "I don't know." I opened it as we walked back to the limo. It had his name and number on it. "Ahanu, I really shouldn't keep this though." A hey Eleni caught my attention as said woman stopped to see who called her name. A light skinned woman with long black curly hair and a curvaceous body ran up to Eleni, a smile lighting up her face. "Hey Eleni, it's been a awhile. How are you?" Eleni looked confused until a look of remembrance. "Oh hey Aimee. I'm good. What are you doing here? It's been almost a year since I've seen you." The woman laughed "I'm just in town for a few days. Hey are you busy tonight we should hang out." Eleni looked at me and I just shrugged. I wasn't here to hang with Eleni honestly so I didn't mind if she left. "It's fine with me Eleni, it's getting late anyways and I will probably go to sleep soon." Eleni's eyes turned dark, "Not until you talk to Laurent damnit." Ah, she caught that huh. I hung my head, me fears returning. The woman named Aimee had a weird look on her face. "You know Laurent? Seems like all of San Franciscos women know him." She smacked her teeth and I felt a slight annoyance build in my body. "What do you mean by that?" She sized me up at my question. "Nothing, I'm sure that it doesn't account for you sweetie." Who the fuck? Eleni quickly said okay time to go, and damn near pushed me in the car. I was just stewing in the limo as Eleni had a heated conversation with the Aimee bitch. What did she mean by that? Lau couldn't have with her, could he? I sighed and just stared down at my lap. What did it matter? It's not like I had any claim on him anymore anyways. Eleni got in the limo a few minutes later and stayed quiet. I didn't question her about anything because quite frankly, I didn't want to know the answer.
We pulled up to the hotel and my body sagged with fear, I couldn't do this. I was just about to turn to Eleni to tell her I couldn't until I felt myself being pushed out the door. The chauffeur had already opened the door, so right out I went straight on to my ass. "Ow Eleni, that hurt." She got out and just curled her lips up at me. "You'll be alright, you not running from this Jasmine. Now let's go." She helped me up and I just pouted. She laughed as she once agin dragged me with her into the hotel. Hotel staff and people I didn't know said hello as we bypassed them. Eleni just gave head nods in return and kept on going. "Eleni slow down, I've got asthma damnit." She rolled her eyes and I heard her smack her teeth again. Okay so she doesn't care, the sarcastic thought passed my mind. Once we got off the elevators on the 8th floor, Eleni pulled me again. "Damn, I'm surprised my arm hasn't pulled off at this point." I swear I could hear her eye roll. We came to a stop outside a door. "Okay, here we are. Laurent should be in there, I don't think he left." I gulped, my hands becoming clammy. "I can't Eleni" I hissed to her and she just went to knock on the door herself. Her hand stopped and so did my heart, because I heard a sound. "He didn't...." Eleni whispered under her breath, but I heard her. Another moan rang out and I just stood there. "Guess I wasn't the one he wanted eh Eleni?"End Chapter
Lmao I'm so sorry everyone. My book must have drama and hard times simply because I don't know how to be any other way. Happy endings are unrealistic
