Justin
"That's it for today guys, good job," I called over to the team as I skated towards them.
"Thanks boss, oh and before you leave we have something for tomorrow," Mitch said earning cheers from the team. Yep, tomorrow Jason and I turned 24 but, it also marked two months of Bella being in a coma.
"You guys really shouldn't have," I smiled as Mitch skated towards me with a champagne bag.
"It's nothing special but we couldn't just let your birthday pass," Tim, one of the players, said as he patted my back. I took the bag and looked in it to see a rather expensive looking champagne bottle.
"Thanks guys, I'd open it now and share it with you but, I have to get back," I said sadly but they all shook their heads and waved their hands dismissively.
"Don't worry Justin, we would all do the same if we were in your predicament," Steve said. I nodded and thanked the guys again before skating off of the ice and going into the back room and changing.
I had been training the guys ever since I could get back on the ice but I always showed up late seeing as it would take Faith a while to persuade me to go. Getting out of the hospital was good for me, I know, but I always had that sick feeling in the back of my head that something was going to go wrong... again.
I put my bag in the trunk of my Fisker before unlocking the drivers door and climbing in. I was now a lot more cautious with my driving, well anyone would be if they were involved in an accident.
I drove out of the arena car park and down into the town centre. I needed to check on Bella's shop. I have been doing regular checks for the past month now, so has Sarah but I always do the ones at night...
I quickly parked round back before jogging round to the front and unlocking the shops door. As I walked in the bell just above the door made a twinkling sound. I switched on the lights and went over to the phone to see if there were any messages. The company for the apartment blocks had been ringing everyday to see if Bella was back but I don't really know why they would waste they're money when an update on how Bella was, was printed in many magazines and newspapers...
Nothing was out of place or order since the last time I had visited the shop and so, I locked back up and went across the street to get myself some Tim Hortons...
Once I had my drink I jogged back to my car, since it was pretty cold, and began to make my way back, carefully, to the hospital.
Two months. It's a long time to go without hearing Bella's voice or seeing her dazzling eyes. They had been taking her out of the room to do more tests recently but I didn't really understand much of it so I stayed back from it all. She hadn't moved an inch and was still depending heavily on the life support machine.
I had Faith take her medical notes away so I wasn't tempted to look. I was still so confused with everything although, I didn't want to bring it up with her parents because, I didn't know if that would be a touchy subject... or if they even knew...
Pulling up to the hospital car park, I parked my car and picked up my still hot drink before locking my car and walking towards the hospital entrance.
"Justin, is Isabella still in there?"
"Are you having an affair?"
"Any change in her state?"
"Will she wake up?"
The paparazzi called out from the side of the hospital doors. Every time I left they would bombard me with questions. Some of them were reasonable but others were completely stupid.
