Justin
"Ok, do 15 more drills then we'll start a game," I called to the players and skated out of the way so they could complete the task.
"Justin, someone's on the phone for you," Steve called from the top of the steps which led to our office. I looked to Bella who was busily typing away on her laptop, trying to complete the final details for Alexa's wedding which was right around the corner. 6 days to be precise.
"I'm on my way up," I called back. I made sure the team started the game before skating off of the ice and swapping my skates to my supras. I walked up the steps and made my way to Bella but stopped as I heard part of her phone conversation.
"You can't deliver the cake at 6! That's too late! I need it at the reception by 2 at the latest. If it's not there, you won't be receiving your pay," She snapped angrily whilst typing on her laptop. I was about to tell her where I was going until, something was said down the phone which she definitely didn't enjoy...
"OF COURSE I NEED IT FUCKING CONSTRUCTED BY YOU! I DON'T KNOW HOW TO STACK FUCKING CAKE!" She hissed. I slowly stepped away from her bubbling body and made my way up to the office... Lets just say, it hasn't been Bella's best week.
"Who is it?" I asked Steve as he handed me the phone. No one ever usually rings this number and asks for me, unless it's sponsors for the team...
"Will Antoine," Steve gave me a tight lipped smile before walking into his office, leaving me with the deadly phone. I gulped loudly before walking over to the couch and sitting down... This was going to be a long call...
"Hello?" My voice was slightly higher then it usually was... I coughed quickly, trying to mask it as something in my throat... Other than fear.
"Justin, it's Will," He spoke happily but, anyone would be able to hear the sadness in his voice.
"Hey there Mr Antoine," I spoke awkwardly. We hadn't spoken since that night...
"Look, before I continue with this phone call, I want to apologize for punching you. I had no right to do any of that and I'm truly sorry. I guess my protective father side just got out of control," Will sighed. I stood up and began to walk out back, not sure what Bella would do if she heard the conversation.
"It's fine now, the bruising is gone now. You throw a good punch," I joked, trying to lighten the conversation. I heard Will chuckle lightly on the other end, meaning I did something right.
"Sorry, it's just she's my little girl and it's hard letting her go. I never really thought that Sarah and I would get back together so, I thought she would always have someone near but now... Her whole family is in another country. I just worry," Will explained as I heard a loud sigh.
"It sounds corny but, she'll always have me. I'm not going anywhere. My family already sees her as another daughter... She won't be alone," I smiled lightly, kicking a small rock on the ground. It was true, Bella is family.
"Thank you Justin. You seem to be holding up well. How is the apartment?" Will asked but I knew he just wanted to know how his daughter was doing.
"Well, it's been 3 weeks now and everything is perfect. Bella's had quite a few more bookings although, she's just been focussed on Alexa's wedding at the moment. You would think she was getting married with all the stress she's putting herself through," We laughed, knowing only Bella would plan someone else's wedding.
"Is she at training with you?" Will asked and I could hear the desperation in his voice to just speak with Bella but, I don't think now is a great time.
"Yeah, she's inside sorting out the cake," I explained.
"Do you think I could speak with her?" Will asked desperately. I closed my eyes and sighed...
