A few days passed without any of the guys over, without anyone over actually.
"Come on, we're all going to dinner. It's our last night until school starts," Matt whined to me. I was distraught over the whole news thing still.
"Fine," I groaned to Matt and he hopped on my bed, jumping up and down.
"Yay! We leave in an hour, I love you." Let me just recap what happened after the interview. When Matt, Scotty and Asher ran into my room, they all laid in my bed and made me remember the good things my parents did.
"I love you too now bye." I went into the bathroom and showered, washing my hair and shaving. I changed into a romper with a white lace top that crossed in the back and a cute blue floral print. I let my hair air dry and put on tan wedges.
"Athena is riding with us, is that okay?" I rolled my eyes at him from yelling around the house.
"I thought she wasn't your type?" I yelled back at him and he entered my room.
"I'm open to new possibilities okay? I'm an optimistic guy." I rolled my eyes at him and crossed my arms over my chest.
"Why wasn't she your type?"
"She's just always so happy and bubbly and she doesn't put out." I hit him on the back of the head, hard. Causing him to scream. "What was that for?"
"She's nice and happy isn't annoying and I'm glad she doesn't put out like all the other girls that are all over you! She really likes you. Give her a chance!" I glare at him and he just glares back. He was wearing a blue v neck with khaki shorts and Sperry's.
"I'll ask her out on a date tonight, then we'll see where that leads. But that's all I'm promising you. Let's go pick her up." I hopped into his car and we drove to a mansion on the other side of town. Athena walked out with a white dress on that was showing some of her stomach but covered it up with lacy daisy outlines. She curled her hair and had her radiant smile on. I look over at Matt to see him with his mouth agape.
"Hey guys. Matt are you okay," Athena asked and giggled, breaking him out of his trance.
"Yeah yeah, you just look stunning." She started blushing and I climbed into the back, letting Athena take the passenger seat.
"Thank you Matt." Great, I'm third wheeling but I'll play matchmaker.
"Audrey! We have cheer tryouts tomorrow, you should come! I'm captain this year, it'll be so fun with you there!" She looked at me with pleading eyes. So Matt is the quarterback and Athena is the cheer captain, oh my goals.
"I will, do you play any other sports," I asked her and smiled.
"I play lacrosse! And I run track but that's it. What about you?" She smiled at me and I saw Matt steal a glance at her and he smiled.
"I cheer, play softball, volleyball and run track." I smiled at her.
"You should try out for the play! Serenity has been talking about it non stop! We're doing Grease, Serenity wants to be Sandy but you should still try out."
"She is going to, right Audrey," Matt asked and looked back at me.
"Yeah, I was Belle in Beauty and the Beast last year for my other schools musical," I said and a smile never left her face. She turned around in her seat and faces the road.
"You can turn it up if you want, I know you love to sing." Matt looked at her softly and a blush creeped to her face.
"You love to sing?" She nodded her head sheepishly.
