"It's going to be fun! Everyone is coming," Mariah said, proud of her work. We were blowing up balloons after school for a masquerade ball she was throwing.
"What are you wearing," I asked her and Athena who was putting roses everywhere. She recently dyed her hair blonde and cut it.
"A teal dress with a black mask!" I nodded my head approvingly. As Athena angled a rose, then pulled it out, handing it to me.
"You'll just have to see my love," Athena said and giggled.
"You're so happy all the time! It's annoying." She rolled her eyes and blew up a gold balloon.
"I'm not annoying! Sebastian just made it official!" She danced around the room like she was in love.
"That's great!" She exclaimed and hugged her best friend.
"You guys won't believe Matt! Like two weeks ago, he tried to convince me that Sebastian was a gang leader! Who does that? Sorry, no offense Audrey."
"It's total bogus anyways! None taken," I said, lying through my teeth. I hated lying to them but I needed to protect Sebastian's secret.
"You guys are staying the night right," Mariah asked us as I picked up another balloon, blowing it up.
"Of course! We shall watch Breakfast at Tiffany's," Athena said and we all laughed.
"You're Gossip Girl obsessed," I exclaimed to her as she blushed.
"I think I make a perfect Blair Waldorf, don't you?" She struck a mean pose then grabbed a balloon and blew it up.
"The personality is uncanny," Mariah said and Athena let go of the balloon, hitting Mariah in the face.
"I say we shall celebrate with macaroons!" She ran into the kitchen with her long socks and a black pajama shirt.
"No no! Those are for the party!" Mariah got up but Athena came into the room.
"Take one step further and it goes in my mouth!" Mariah threw a tantrum and Athena ate the little macaroon.
"Guys! I'm 18!" I laughed at her.
"This is going to be a great party! Let's get ready," I said as we ran upstairs to fight over the mirror. I got ready in the downstairs bathroom, I walked upstairs to see Athena in a yellow gown too.
"Copy cat," Athena said and stuck her tongue out at me as she slipped on a red mask. I slipped on a gold one.
"I must say that you look utterly divine." I curtsy at her as she giggles.
"You too beautiful stranger!" We laugh as the doorbell rang and Mariah rushed out to get it, putting on her mask.
"Hey guys! Welcome, don't forget to take off the masks at midnight," Mariah greeted kids into her mansion until her butler came with the guest list. Elegant music started playing while couples danced.
"Care to dance with this poor devil," a guy with a red suit on and a devil's mask asked. He wasn't Daniel, I was sure of it.
"Of course," I said and he took my hand, leading me to the dance floor. We danced while he talked about himself the whole time.
"My summer home in the Hampton's isn't all it's cracked up to be." I smiled a fake smile towards him while rolling my eyes.
"That's fantastic." He bragged on and on about his rich lifestyle.
"I took sailing lessons since I was five."
"I gotta go." I started and walked into a stranger.
