Chapter 11: Surprise!

Asriel's POV

I slowly got out of bed, looking around the room. Nothing seemed different but... Where was Chara? I got up, and looked at my bedside table. I saw a note from Chara!

Dear Asriel,
Morning! Sorry I'm not in the room right now,
I met someone and I'm gonna hang out with
them for a little bit, but I'll be back soon.
Don't get worried, I'm not in danger, he's actually
the best monster ever! (Besides you)
Ill see you later Asriel!
Love, Chara :)

I smiled and set the letter down. So Chara is out  right now which means... I can make something special for her! I thought happily, I ran out of my room and into my moms room. "Mom? Mom! Wake up, I need your help!" I whisper-shouted, shaking her sleeping body. "Hmm...?" She mumbled and lifted her head up. "Chara met a nice monster and is hanging out with someone so I want to make her something special." She happily agreed to help out so I decided to explain what I wanted to make right then.

We set it up in the kitchen, hoping when she came back she would walk in here for lunch. It was a little late for breakfast. "Mom! Let's start now, I don't know if she's gonna come back soon or not." I told my mom, she nodded and got everything ready. I grabbed the bowl and put the ingredients in, stirred it, then let my mom take over as I set the balloons and the banner. I had made the banner with the help of mom. I took the tacks and stuck them in the wall to hang up the banner.

"Ok Asriel, it's baking now!" Mom called from the kitchen. I step off the chair from the table and walked towards mom. "Do you like it? I hung it myself!" I exclaimed, she wrapped her arm around me and giggled. "Of course I love it! It's a shame daddy can't see it because he's out on business." I sighed, Daddy won't be here to celebrate... I looked at my feet, try I not to cry. My dad does this normally but this time he needed to be here unlike the other times he was out. "Mom? Do you think he'll be here to celebrate?" I asked.

"Maybe Asriel... Maybe..." DING DING DING!! The oven beeped loudly, "Oh my! It's already time to add the cinnamon!" Mom ran into the kitchen, I heard the clang of the oven door opening and closing. Then she came back out with a smile. "It's almost done, all that's left is to wait and let it cook. After, we cut them up and put them on the plates." She explained, I nodded. Then an idea came into my head, I gasped and ran to my room. I grabbed the crayons and paper and headed to my drawing table. Chara is going to love this! I thought happily.

When I finished the drawing, it was done cooking and was already set up on the table. I walked to the table and set down my drawing for mom to see, she told me it was wonderful! Click! Woosh! The front door opened, to my surprise... It was daddy! "Dad!" I shouted, I ran up to him and hugged his legs, "We made a special surprise for Chara! Look!" I showed him everything, including my drawing and he loved every single thing about it. "Asriel, I think I saw Chara and someone walking towards the house together! We have to get into position now!" Dad said when I finished explaining, yes! She's coming! We all hid behind the table and waiting for the arrival of Chara.

Click! Woosh! The door opened, and she walked in. "Goodbye Mack! I'll see you later today!" She said to someone, the door closed and she walked towards us. "SURPRISE!!" We shouted in unison, she gasped. "What is this?!" She exclaimed, I ran up to her and hugged her. "It's all for you, for becoming one with our family. And loving all of us!" She smiled at me, "You didn't have to do all this! But thank you so much!" We walked to the table together and she gasped again. "You guys made me butterscotch-cinnamon pie too?!" We all laughed and nodded, smiling at Chara's surprised face. She saw the banner as well...

Chara's POV

They had made me a surprise "gift" for becoming apart of their family, and I loved it! They made butterscotch-cinnamon pie, decorated the house with balloons and streamers, but my two favorite things of all... Are the things Asriel had made himself. The banner that said We love you Chara! With hearts, stars, and glitter. And a drawing of me and him, holding hands and sitting in the flower field. "Thank you so much you guys! This means the world to know you guys truly do love me." I hugged them all in a tight group hug and started to cry tears of joy.

"Chara, don't cry! You should be happy!" Asriel said, hugging me tighter. "I am happy, I'm crying because I'm happy.." I let go of the hug and sat down at the table to eat my pie. We all talked about the underground and what things mom and dad have to do since they're the king and queen, it actually made me kind of jealous that the underground was so nice unlike the human world. "You guys have he underground in such peaceful terms, the human world is waaaay different from here!" I explained, I told them about my family and everyone else in the human world and how they acted towards me.

They shook they're heads at every mean thing I said they did to me, but I left out the part where I killed them. But I did say they were dead, just not murdered. "That's horrible! But at least you're not there now Chara." Dad said as he shook his head, and I smiled at him. I also told them about Mack and how he was the only nice human in my village. And that he loved me. "Someone's got a boyfriend! Someone's got a boyfriend!" Asriel chanted, I glared at him playfully. "A dead boyfriend to be exact!" I told him, he laughed. "You admitted it! You just did!" He smiled and pointed at me. I just rolled my eyes and smirked at him.

Once we were done eating, we cleaned up the plates then listened to mom read to us. Dad had to leave again but it wasn't a big deal, he had to check on Snowdin because they were having a problem in Grillby's. "Bye dad!" We shouted as he walked out the door. Then mom started to read to us again, as we listened I thought about how much my life as improved since I fell down here. Although I wish Mack was actually alive instead of a ghost. And that's because I ran away that he's dead. I began to become very mad, this is my fault his life ended so suddenly! I growled, and noticed that Asriel heard me, "Are you ok?" He asked, but I just smiled and nodded. I hate myself...
