Chapter 8: Home?

Mack's POV

I realized I was dead but...I didn't want to be. My parents were still sitting there, enjoying this place like it's their home! I didn't understand how you could love. Place like this when your family is on Earth! I collapsed into a heap of my limbs and sobbed, "I don't want to be here! Put me back!" I shouted through my sobs. Then I remembered to try and pray for better, wait. That doesn't work up here, I'm going to have the prayers come to me. I don't know what to do... I thought, frustrated at myself for putting me in this situation.

I heard footsteps coming closer to me in the soft mushy dirt ground. So I looked up and saw a bright glowing person smiling, walking closer towards me with his hand out. I reached out and gripped the hand, it was so smooth and soft and my hand probably was rough from constantly working. "It's alright Mack, you're safe now. You're home." Then I realized it.. My father! "Dad?" I managed to stutter out, starting to shake. I haven't seen him in 12 years! He nodded his head, and I gripped him into a hug, and I started to glow like him!

"Why are we glowing?!" I asked, still hugging my father. "Our souls have come with us to the after-life and it makes us glow, and make our bodies become gray and dull." Father explained, which I actually had to tell him many things about when I grew up without them taking care of me. All I had was Chara, I miss her so much. Why did I have to kill myself? I clenched my fists and walked up to a tree and pounded my fists into the brown and broken trunk. "Mack no! Stop!" A girl shouted, then I felt a hand pull my shoulders back. I fell onto the dirt, grass and bugs getting into my hair and on my face. "Who are you?" I asked, hoping it was just my Mother. "Jessie, your old girlfriend that was hit with a car 2 years ago!" The lady shouted, leaning over my face to smile at me. I gasped, Jessie!

I hopped onto my feet and tackled her with my big bear hug. "I MISSED YOU SOOO MUCH!" I laughed, gripping hard around her neck. She started to pull on my arms to pull away but I couldn't let go, but I loosened my grip hoping she would still let me hug her. And she did. We sat there for a while, doing nothing but hugging. She still smelled like a cupcake, a strawberry chocolate cupcake, I loved it. Then after what seem like 2 seconds, she let go and smiled as she stared into my eyes. "I missed you too Mack." She whispered in her soothing voice, the sound sent a million trickles down my back. I smiled back and sat down on the soft dirt, she followed my every step.

"I know you miss the world down there but... This is your home now Mack. You have to face the facts, Chara is long gone and probably doesn't even remember you!" Jessie explained, she looked at me with hopeful eyes that I would believe that stuff. "WHO TOLD YOU ABOUT CHARA?!" I exclaimed, my hands digging farther and farther into the dirt the more I looked at her. She didn't say anything at first, she looked confused as to why I yelled like that. "Mack, calm down. You can still watch over Chara whenever you want now! That's what I have been doing for the past 2 years I've been here." Jessie explained to me again, but I didn't care! "You have a glowing orb in your home to use to look at the world from above, but nobody can here what you say to them. You can use that to hook up the GPS person locator and find Cha--" "WHERE DO I LIVE?!" I asked frantically, please show me the orb and where I live. I thought. She stood up and started running, "Follow me!" She shouted from behind her shoulder. I followed.

She pointed to a house up ahead which meant it was my home. "Now once you get inside you turn it on and there is a world map that shows you earth. All you have to do is use the GPS person locator and type in anyone's name, then it will locate that person for you in an instant. You can watch over them, listen to their words, but the sound barrier refrains anyone from Earth to hear anyone up here." Jessie finished off her explaining with giving me a key and another hug, "I love you Mack..." Then she was gone in a flash, I sighed. I wish I could talk with her all day but-- WAIT! Maybe if I break the sound barrier Chara will be able to speak to me and I can speak to her! I thought, my plan bouncing all over in my brain.

I was going to break the sound barrier of the orb, and no one can do anything to stop me!
