Ch.6 A dream of the past

According to Coconut I tossed and turned violently in my sleep, the voices of my dream echoed as the dream went on.

*in the dream*

"Sup kid, you don't look like much, especially since you ain't got no car, or crew."

"Kid, you bore me, here's some cash, take a cab. HEY YO, TAXI!

"YOU, ITS ON!"

"You did it, you won, you won!"

"He's been making back ally deals to try and keep you out of the race scene."

"I don't wanna see ANY part of that Supra make it across the finish line."

"Big deal it was one race, it won't happen again."

"YOU, I'M TAKING YOU ON FOR EVERYTHING, I TOOK YOU OUT ONCE AND I'LL FO IT AGAIN!"

"You won, I can't believe it!"

"Another bolt on wonder boy lookin to get smoked, why don't we save you the grief and peal those parts right now?"

"When he's done with you, I never wanna see your face again."

"What's up poser, I'm glad your putting it down out here I really am because I can't wait to get a crack at that ride. What, didn't anybody tell you, you gotta put you ride on the line to go against a black list racer AND THAT is why people aren't stupid enough to do it, I'll be waiting."

"First I'm gonna take your ride, then I'm gonna take your girl, get ready for that."

"Thank you for the ride, I knew you wern't black list material."

"No way I'm gonna let you hold on to the number one spot, and if you want you Supra, you're gonna have to take it."

"Don't disappoint."

"Look, between the heat and the crews you need to lay low, go, take my car and get out of town."

"Its been a long time kid."

"I always knew you had it in ya kid, don't give up now you're close."

"So he's figured it out, oh come on, you didn't think I'd let you take my territory and then front you the money to save you from cross, heh greed has always been your problem, you got a lot to learn about the big racing leagues buddy."

"Yeah?.....what?......Royal did that, alright, fine, looks like I'm gonna need a crew that's motivated."

"You know I spent that money you got framed for, I bought Nickie everything you couldn't."

"The keys are in the car.....enjoy it while it lasts because there's always someone who's a little bit faster than you and one day their gonna catch up."

"Yeah ok, Royal won, but he DID NOT look pretty behind the wheel."

"I don't know about this Royal guy."

"What, you talking me and Royal on the same track, Super Promotion races are the real deal, we'll see how long he lasts."

"We knew this day would come.....the day Royal goes up against the showdown king."

"My how the mighty have fallen, the showdown king has been defeated, Royal is our new Street King ladies and gentlemen!"

*End dream*

I was woken by a panicked Coconut standing over me, I was hot, scared, dazed, you name it and I was it. Why, why did I have a dream about my former racing rivals, what did this mean?

"Are you alright, Royal?" Coconut asked panicked.

"Yeah, I'm fine, sorry to scare you."

"What happened to you?" She asked.

"Just a bad dream." I replied.
