*Royal's point of view*
I layed on the couch and relaxed as I listened to the sound of the rain outside slowly pick up in speed. I closed my eyes feeling myself relax into a state I knew I would end up falling asleep in if I stayed like this too long. I heard the door creak open and I opened my eyes to see Coconut standing in the doorway.
I smiled, "Hey, you alright?" I asked.
She blushed and staired out the window at the rain and dark sky.
"Coco, you alright?" I asked again.
Her attention to the window was broken by my question.
"Huh, I mean yes, I'm fine." She said nervously.
"You don't sound ok, come over here and join me." I said.
"But, there's only room for one." She said blushing.
"Rest on top of me." I said reaching out to her.
Coconut closed the door behind her and walked towards me, taking my hand she climbed on top of me and eased her way down resting her head on my chest. I placed on arm around her waste and gently stroked her hair with the other, stopping now and then to scratch her ears.
The rain was really picking up outside and the sky was a dark grey. I looked down at Coconut still awake, she seemed to be shaking ever so slightly. That was when a loud boom of thunder erupted in the sky followed by a crash of lightning. Coconut tightened her grip on me and buried her face in my shirt with a whimper.
"You're scared of thunderstorms?" I asked her.
She nodded. "When I was with Clarence the sick bastard left me outside in a thunderstorm, I was soaked and scared, and nearly got sick because of him." Coconut said.
I could tell by the tone of Coconut's voice she was crying. I stroked her hair and she calmed down, "He's not coming back, and I'm here now, and I'll always be here for you." I said.
"Thank you, I love you, Royal." Coconut said.
"I love you too, Coconut." I said.
Coconut nuzzled against my chest and wrapped her tail around my leg as she started purring. "Goodnight, Royal." Coconut said before falling alseep.
"Goodnight, Coco." I said before falling asleep.
