Ox point of view
I woke up late, it was around 3:00 pm when I got out of bed, that was a good thing because I planed on doing some drifting in the mountains of Yokohama tonight, maybe I'll get to race him the S2K known as the Silver Bullet. This guy was a legend, he earned the name silver bullet because he holds the record for the fastest drift entry of 182 mph. Its a wonder as to how he hasn't flown off the cliff side.
A flash of a broken guard rail on carbon canyon came into Ox's thoughts, a voice echoed through his head followed by the sound of screeching tires.
"Aki!"Ox shook himself from his thoughts.
"No, I can't think about that now, she's gone and I have to accept it, I better get ready." Ox says to himself
Ox showered and got dressed before going down to the garage and working on his 180SX. "Ok, I'll camber the front tires slightly the give me better control on the curves and lower the pressure some in the rear tires for better grip when sliding." He said to himself.
"Talking to yourself again Oxy?" A female voice said.
Ox turned around to see his girlfriend Maple standing at the door to the garage.
"Just making a mental checklist of the things I need to do for tonight drift race." He said
"Well have fun tonight. Maple said with a smile.
"I-I will." He replied
Maple stood there for a moment, studying Ox's movements and emotions, "You're thinking about Aki aren't you?" Maple asked trying to comfort Ox.
"She meant a lot to me, and to see her car go over that cliff edge."
"I know, hey you never know, she could still be alive, that cliff wasn't up that high from the road below it, 20 to 30 feet at the most."
"I doubt it." Ox replied
"I know she was your first love and we used to fight over you and all, but-"
"Its ok Maple, I'v accepted that she's gone, I'v moved on, I'm happy with you, really I am, you mean the world to me."
Maple smiled. "That's one thing I like about you, you can smile through the darkest of times." Maple said
"I don't tend to dwell on things." Ox replied.
"Well, I'll leave you to your tuning, I'm off to have my M3 dynode, I wanna see how much power the new parts added."
"Have fun." Ox said
*later at the mountain pass*
I sat there, waiting for the S2K to show, other racers stood and watched as I waited. This had been the talk lf the drift Scene since I beat the Red Suns Rotary brothers, the Night kids R33 Skyline, and some poser who took over the night kids after the R33 lost, the fool drove a Honda Civic. I saw a pear of headlights in my rearview as the S2K stopped next to me.
We were off, down the strait and approaching the first turn, the first turn was a breeze, second was wide so I sped up and let natural tire slip do its job and propel my car around the turn. I looked in my rearview, that S2K was playing tag with my rear bumper, wait he's gonna try to slam my bumper when I go into the next turn, the drifters call this a back stab since it only effects rear wheel drive cars. During a slide the traction in the rear is lost so the drift can be done, if anything were to hit the rear of said car during the drift it would spin out and in some cases cause the car to go over the edge.....
Sure enough my bumper was slammed during the drift. I ripped the E-brake and threw my 180sx into a wider angle and used the corner of my bumper to ride the guard rail, sparks flew from from the guard rail and out of the third turn.
S2K driver: Hmm, he used the guad rail to keep him stable, maybe he isn't all talk after all.
*back to Ox*
I made the fourth corner with no problems and the same with the fifth, last turn, last turn. I initiated the drift only to see the S2K gaining but it didn't matter I had made it to the base of the mountain first, I stopped my car and stepped out and waited for the s2k.
A few minutes passed and the s2k stopped next to me and the driver stepped out.
"So, looks like you aren't all talk after all." The s2k owner said
"They don't call me the ghost of Yokohama for nothing." Ox replied
"I would say so, they call me Gold." He said.
"Boy, that's why you drive a sliver bullet cause you always in second." Ox replied
"Hmm boy." Gold replied.
