Pan's POV

I wake up to the feeling of someone tugging on my hair. I sit up to see Melanie sitting behind me. "Where did you go? I was worried that you got to dreamshade." She stands up "I went home." I raise an eyebrow "How?" I ask. "I don't really understand it but, I closed my eyes when I was hiding in a log and I was in my bed again." I understand what she's saying. I used to do that after me and my twin sister would get beat by father. "Does Dad beat you?" I ask. She nods "Every day." I knew that he never changed. "Well, where do you go after he beats you?" "I go to an abandoned cottage in the forest." I nod. I know exactly where it is because, I use to live there with Maya. "What's dreamshade?" She asks. "It's the deadliest poison on the island. You have to promise me that you'll never go near it." She nods "I promise." "Good." I get up and see that it's almost night. I turn around to face her but, she's gone. She must've woken up. I lay back down and go back to sleep.
