When we get to camp, I see Maya sitting on a log and looking into the fire as if in a trance. I sit beside Pan which happens to be directly across from her. Pan starts playing his flute and I lay my head on his shoulder and close my eyes. I open them again to see Maya rest her head in her hands and falling asleep. She gets up and goes to her tent. The boys are extremely fast at making tents for new recruits that it's unbelievable. Pan stops playing the flute after a while but, that doesn't stop the boys from dancing around the fire. Pan puts his arm around me and I get a little bit closer to him. I try not to fall asleep but, I can't stop myself from drifting off. "It's ok to fall asleep, Kim." Pan whispers to me. How did he know I was trying my hardest to stay awake? I forget about that question and fall asleep.
