25. Bestfriends Again

It was extremely hard to wake up. My eyes hurt so much from last night and I didn't feel good. Could I just stay in bed all day? I don't think I had any energy to do anything today.

I lazily looked over at my alarm clock and saw that it was 1 in the afternoon. I had slept that late? I guess so since I didn't fall asleep until like 3 in the morning.

I threw the covers off of me but not exactly getting up yet. I wiped my face with my hands in a desperate attempt to wake myself up, but in all honestly I felt like crap today and that wasn't changing. I don't know how, but I managed to get up and stand up next to my bed waiting for my legs to take me to at least the shower or something, but in a second I fell right back onto my bed.

I let out a loud groan and picked up my phone from the nightstand next to my alarm clock. The brightness from my phone made me cringe because I was currently lying in a very dark room. I noticed there were 4 missed calls from Ariana, and 9 text messages to go with it. I ignored them all and looked at the other notifications I had. There was a text from Kyle so I opened that up to see what it was about.

This is a joke right. It's like what I said last night just backfired on me. They wanted me to come in today and do the song with Ariana. That means I have to see her, and get my heart broken all over again. I didn't want to see her today, was I not clear. Maybe I can call in, uh sick.

Me: Hey Kyle, I can't come in today. I'm uh, not feeling too well.

Kyle: You don't really have an option, Tom's manager is all over him today making sure he does this song ASAP. You need to come in.

Me: Seriously? I can't just have one day off?

Kyle: I'm afraid not. Come in now. See you then pal.

I shut the phone and threw it on the bed. Seriously? I couldn't just have one day off? I really didn't like Tom's manager at all now.

I hopped in the shower quick and made my self presentable for the day. I opened Bella's bedroom door quietly just incase she was sleeping. When I opened it she was sitting up in her bed watching some tv. I walked in and stood there. "I'm going Tom's office, I'll be back later." I said. Maddie jumped off Bella's bed and greeted me at the door. She jumped up onto my legs but she was so small she barely reached my knees.

I looked back up at Bella, "Why were you yelling in your sleep last night?" She questioned muting the tv so she could hear my response. "What? Yelling?" I repeated even though I heard her loud and clear. She nodded her head. I looked down at Maddie, and then back up at her avoiding her eyes contact. "I- I don't know." I said and I shut her door leaving Bella and Maddie in the room.

When I left I heard the tv sound come back on so I knew Bella wasn't going to ask anymore of that, and I was rather grateful because I didn't want to talk about it just yet. I grabbed my car keys and drove to Tom's office.

I parked pretty close to the main doors and that was really rare since everyone always got here before me and the place was usually packed. I removed the keys from the car ignition and took a deep breath. Well here we go.

"Hey Nancy." I greeted the secretary but she just gave me a nod because she was on her phone talking to someone. I nodded my head and then took the elevator to Tom's office. I knocked, but nobody answered. I knocked again, and still no one answered. I opened the door to reveal nobody was in the office. Oh, well I guess they're already working on the song. I closed the door lightly and then turned around only to bump into Tom himself.

"Oh Tom, hey." I said brushing myself off and backing away from him. He fixed his tie and looked at me with a smile. "Hunter, they're in the studio, I'll be there in a second I just have to make some phone calls. Thanks for showing up." He said and went around me to go into his office.
