28. My Nightmare's Son

"Really?" Tyler asked breathing heavily as I thought of my next move. I nodded my head and juked him out heading right for the basket. "Damn how did you get so good?" Tyler asked standing up now out of breath. I released the rim and jumped down grabbing the basketball. "Practice." I said and we headed over to the bench for some water and to relax.

"But seriously, you and Ariana are back together? That's great man!" He said chugging his water. I took it from him and gave him a look because if he drank too fast he would be sick. Tyler put down the water and looked at me waiting for an answer. "Yes, since yesterday. I guess we were supposed to be together!" I said truthfully but more convincing myself than him.

Having enough of basketball for one day, Tyler and I went our separate ways back to our houses. I needed a shower since I was just disgusting right now.

"I'm back!" I yelled through the house and walking into the kitchen for some food because I was starving. I heard Bella talking coming from her room but I didn't bother going in there because she was probably on the phone talking to one of her friends about her new 'boyfriend' and she would scold me for listening. So I made a turkey sandwich and headed for my room.

I sat on my bed and flipped through the channels hoping to find something good on tv, but nothing was on. I finished my sandwich in a few more bites and I was mildly full and nothing was on tv so I hopped in the shower.

After about 15 minutes, I walked back into my room and my phone was ringing so I picked it up to Tom's voice.

Tom: Hunter! Can you come to my office right now?

Me: Yeah let me change and I'll be right there.

I hung up after an extremely short conversation and threw on a decent outfit to go see Tom. What did he want? I hope it wasn't bad and I hope his manager wasn't going to be there. Now that was a man I was intimidated by.

"Hunter!" Tom greeted me as I was shutting the door behind me. He came over and shook my hand, but something was off with him. I sat down suspiciously and waited for him to say something but he never did. I tapped my foot waiting for one of us to speak first but nobody did. Wait, he called me here so why wasn't he saying anything to me? Was I in trouble?

Then as I was about to say something, the door opened behind me and I watched as Tom's eyes widened so I turned around to see what it was and it was a who rather than a what. Tom's manager and aka Charlie's dad I just found out recently. barged through the door throwing paper's onto Tom's desk.

Did he always wake up on the wrong side of the bed or what? "These are the expenses for your little project. Or should I say giant project!" The man said with a furious face. What project was he talking about? Ariana came running through the door saying she was sorry she was late but stopped dead in her tracks when she noticed that the man was glaring at her so she took a seat next to me wryly.

"Is he always this angry?" She whispered so that I could only here. I laughed quietly not wanting to direct any attention to us. "Oh, dang." Tom said examining the papers in his hands. He flipped through each one and looked at it carefully. "Um, what project are you guys talking about?" I said behind the big man standing in front of me.

He turned around looking down on me, "None of your business." He said sternly and then turning around again. Well I knew for a fact that this guy didn't like me. I heard the two of them whispering and it was about the project. Did they think Ariana and I couldn't hear them?

"Why can't we tell them?" Tom whispered putting the papers down. "Not yet. Not until we know for a fact that this is going to happen." Then man said and then turned toward us to make sure we weren't listening. As soon as he turned around Ariana and I averted our eyes else where so we weren't looking directly at him.
