Chapter 14 (THE CHAPTER DELETED!)

LUKES POV:

"Please just wake up Luke," I hear someone say.

I look around me and see nothing but black. Wait why can’t I open my eyes? Is this what being dead feels like? Am I dead? Or am I just in a dream? I lay there motionless trying to force my eyes open. I can feel someone squeezing my hand, okay maybe I am not dead. Eyes, just open, please. I try to force them open again but nothing happens. Maybe if I try to squeeze my hand they might feel me. I try to squeeze but feel nothing, okay I am dead, I have to be. I keep staring into nothing but blackness until suddenly I am blinded by a bright light. I blink and finally everything comes into focus. I look around to see Mum, Beau, Ellie, Riley, Skip and James crowded around me.

"Beau go get the doctor," mum says with tears in her eyes. I replay what had happened in the past day. The people in our house beating us, wait Jai. Where is Jai. I look around and don’t see him.

"W-where's Jai?" I ask mum panicking. She looks at me with soft eyes.

"He is fine honey, try to calm down," she says in a soothing voice.

"I want to see him," I answer trying to sit up.

"Luke please lay down, Jai is just over there, he is sleeping," Ellie says pointing to somewhere. I nod and try to relax.

"Where am I?" I ask.

"Hospital," Ellie says.

"Oh," I answer. Before I speak a strange man walks into the room.

"Ah Luke you have woken up, how are you feeling?" the man asks. He is in a doctors outfit and is holding a clipboard.

"Fine I guess," I answer.

"That is good, now can you remember anything that happened?" the doctor asks me.

"Um, I remember four people breaking into our house. They were carrying baseball bats and told me and Jai to get on the ground. We tried to fight them off but they hit us, that's when I blacked out," I answer.

"Okay, well the police want to file a statement but they won’t do it until you and Jai are one hundred percent better," the doctor says before leaving. Everyone is looking down and staring at me.

"Can you put this bed up?" I ask.

"Yeah," Skip nods before raising the bed up so I can see the room. I look around and see Jai in a bed next to me. He has tubes coming out of his nose and his eyes are all puffy and black. He also has stiches in his lip.

"Whoever did this to you, I swear I will fuck them up," Beau says. I chuckle and look back to him.

"Can I have some privacy with Ellie, Beau and Riley?" I ask. James nods and Skip and mum follow him out of the room.

"Ellie?" I hear Jai mumble. I look over at him immediately and smile.

"Is Luke awake?" he asks.

"Bro I am here," I say.

"Tell them what happened," Jai says. I nod even though he can't see me.

"Okay well when Beau left with Ellie, Jai and I were just playing Fifa," I start.

*FLASHBACK*

"Bullshit that didn’t go in!" Jai yells at the TV. I can't help but laugh at how frustrated he gets. We continue to play until I hear the front door open.

"Oi Beau come play!" Jai calls out. No one answers. I look away from the TV at the hallway door. I see multiple shadows moving on the wall.

"Jai," I whisper as I punch him.

"What?" he shouts. That's when it all happens.

"DON’T MOVE A MUSCLE OR I WILL BEAT YOU TWO TO DEATH!" someone screams at us as the knock me and Jai to the floor. Two guys hold us so we can't move as a girl walks into the room. She looks the exact same as Ellie.

"Where is it?" she asks.

"Where is what?" Jai spits out. The girl glares at him with evil eyes.

"MY FUCKING PHONE AND WALLET THAT'S WHAT!" she screams. Jai or I don’t speak. I look up at her with fear in my eyes. She smirks before nodding. Next thing I know I am being hit in the face with a fucking baseball bat.

"OI WHAT THE FUCK!" Jai yells.

"Wrong choice," the girl mutters before taking the bat and swinging it at Jai's face twice. I see the blood fly out of his lip as his head hangs to the ground.

"JAI!" I scream. Jai doesn’t move or respond, is he dead?

"YOU FUCKING BITCH!" I yell.

"Listen here Luke, give me the phone and I will leave," she says.

"Get fucked," I say sternly. She raises her eyebrows before taking the bat and swinging in into my stomach. I am winded from the impact. Suddenly she searches my pockets and finds the phone.

She looks at it then looks back at me before whispering into my ear, "Tell Ellie if she isn't careful I will kill someone. Now where is the wallet?"

"I don’t have it I swear!" I answer.

She examines my face and says, "Why don’t I believe you? Look for the wallet, hurry!" She then takes a piece of paper out of her pocket and leaves it next to Jai who is lying one the floor. About five minutes passes before the two guys come back and shake their heads.

"Fuck we need to find that wallet!" she says to them. They look at her blankly before she sighs.

"Finish him off boys," she says before leaving out the front door with her phone. I watch her flick her hair as she waltzes out of the room. I then look up at the guys who punch me fair in the face knocking me out. All I see is black, total blackness…

*END OF FLASHBACK*

"Fuck," Beau mutters.

"Luke, Jai I am so sorry," Ellie says with tears rolling down her face.

"Ellie it isn't your fault," I answer.

"Luke it is," she says. I sigh and look at Riley who has the most shocked look on his face.

"I know this chick is my sister but I swear if I ever see her I will kill her," Riley says.

"Believe me I will help you," I answer.

"Is that all that happened?" Ellie asks me.

"Yeah why?" I ask her.

"It just seems silly, why would she search for the wallet if there is nothing in it?" I say.

"What are you suggesting?" Beau asks.

"Maybe she believed Luke. What if the wallet actually has something in it we just can’t see it. She wouldn’t have searched for the wallet if there wasn't anything important in it," Ellie says.

"We need to get the wallet and search it again," I say. They all nod.

"When can we go home?" Jai whines.

"The doctor said this arvo," Beau says.

"Thank god," Jai answers. We all laugh and Beau goes to get Skip, James and mum. Just as he is about to walk out the door Ellie and Riley's phone buzz.

"What does it say?" Beau asks as they both read the text.

"You have something of mine, I suggest you hand it over before something like this happens again," they both say in sync. I look up at Ellie with wide eyes.

"Meet me at federation square at 8pm sharp on Sunday night, don’t be late," they finish.

"Okay, we need to come up with a plan and we need to come up with one fast," Jai says.

Damn straight we do.
