Connie had approached the end of a very long, stressful shift, she thought what could be better than going home to relax with a glass of wine or two.
As she's draped her long blue coat across her shoulders and grabbed her hand bag she heard a knock at her door, without even answering the door opened.
'Future reference if you knock on my door please do wait for a reply.. oh Staff Nurse Masters what can I do for you? Can we please make this quick my shift has officially ended.'
'Connie I need to speak to you, when I first got to this hospital I really wanted to impress you, your smart, savvy and not to mention very pretty..'
By this point Connie felt herself getting extremely flushed
'Are you quite finished?'
'No actually I'm not, I don't know what it is with you but do you not like people being kind to you or even trying to have a social life?
So what I came to tell you is that be ready tonight at 7 I will be at yours to pick you up and drive us down to our course.'
Connie by this point was speechless she'd never been spoken to like that, before she could even think of a smart arse reply he was leaving her office.
'Oh and Con I don't hate you like everyone thinks..'
'It's Mrs Beauchamp... and thank you, I think.'Connie left the ED on her way home stopping to pick up some essentials for her course. Why am I actually going? She thought to herself, well it was too late now Hansen had been informed and the hotel paid for.
When Connie got home she opened a bottle of Rosé, she had three hours to pack before Jacob picked her up for their course.
As Connie packed her bag with the radio quietly in the background she began to think to herself why does she hat Jacob so much? Yes he was arrogant, cocky, nosey but that's part of his so called 'charm.'
She was interrupted from her thoughts by her phone ringing:
'Mrs B, everything packed for our trip tomorrow?'
'Hello Staff Nurse Masters, and yes I'm currently packing, I want you to know to bring nice, formal clothing, this is not some sort of Ibiza jolly up.'
Jacob began to laugh to himself,
'Anyway I was ringing to ask ham, cheese, tuna or chicken?'
'I beg your pardon, what sort of question is that?'
'In your sandwich? I'm packing a few it's almost a three hour journey.'
'Oh well that's very nice but I'm fine thank you'
'I'll do a bit of everything then, see you in a bit sweet checks.'
Sweet cheeks?! He called her sweet cheeks, was that his way of flirting? she thought he hated her to now flirting with her?It was 6.50 Connie had finished packing and got changed out of her work clothes into a pair of tight fitting skinny jeans with a baggy jumper hanging off from her shoulders, her hair was in a messy bun with light make up.
This was the outfit Connie choose after almost 20 minutes contemplating, why did she even care? It was only Jacob she wasn't trying to impress him?
Her thoughts were escaped as her front door bell rang, she has previously texted Jacob her address to pick her up from. As she went to open the door, her mind was wandering to his earlier pet name 'sweet cheeks.'
Connie opened the door to be presented to Jacob wearing skinny grey tracksuit bottoms and a black tight v-neck top, showing off his muscles perfectly. Snap out of it Connie thought to herself...
'Hello Jacob, one moment let me just get my bag from the other room.'
'No problem sweet cheeks let me..'
That name again began to give Connie butterflies, now this was to be an eventful car journey...I hope your enjoying the story so far any ideas of suggestions are welcome💗
