The rest of the day was spent working in an uncomfortable, awkward silence; Connie was suspicious of everyone wondering who had put that ridiculous complaint in.
She hadn't seen Jacob since their meeting with Hansen, and if she was honest she wanted to keep it that way. She didn't know how he felt about this course, but she knew for a fact she was not going.
Knock, knock.
'Come in' she said her eyes not once leaving her paperwork.
'Con...'
Her eyes shot up as she heard his voice,
'It's Mrs Beauchamp, and what can I do for you staff nurse Masters?'
'right well Mrs Beauchamp.. about this complaint and the course... I think we need to talk.'
'Jacob there is nothing to talk about, it's just some incompetent patient putting in stupid complaints; and about this course I will not be joining you.'
'Mrs Beauchamp, you may not care about losing your job but I do so please we don't have to even try to sort anything out, but Mr Hansen did say..'
'Thank you Staff Nurse Masters I was there I know what he said I will not be joining you, I will be able to get a job at any other hospital in the country.'
'That's typical, how selfish, it's fine for you but you don't realise I love my job it's all I have...'
Jacob voice was beginning to raise, as Connie rose from her chair standing at almost the same height as him.
'Your not the only one, I love my job also, but I will not be told to go on some silly course for what? the sake of some silly patient who doesn't even know us?'
'Mrs Beauchamp if you pardon me asking but why do you keep saying patient? Hansen said to me it was by a member of staff...'

By now some time had passed since Connie had seen Jacob, she was so angry, what member of her staff would put in such a ridiculous complaint? She had her ideas, Sister Freeman, but Connie knew that she could not go pointing the finger round or she would just get in even more trouble.
Connie knew she was doing herself no good sitting pondering about it as she was just getting angrier and angrier. She picked up her stethoscope and pondered out to see her normally busy ED running smoothly, she thought of this to be a good time to take a break until she heard the familiar words..
'Mrs Beauchamp your needed in resus.'

Thank you so much for reading this I really appreciate it💗
