Connie and Jacob had started walking towards the beach as her phone started to ring,
'Mrs Beauchamp, how is your conference? learning a lot I hope!'
'Ahh Henrick it's very informing, me and Jacob really feel like this is benefiting us.'
'liar..'
Jacob sniggered from beside her, Connie turned her back to him..
'See Mrs Beauchamp, I told you this wouldn't just benefit the department but yourselves also.'
'Yes Henrick I can't thank you enough.'
The sense if sarcasm was very clear in her tone..
'Yes Henrick very beneficial..'
Jacob said mocking her playfully, Connie lightly hit him in the arm.
'Right come on, I'm sure there's a café or something nice around here.'

After eating they're breakfast in a small café opposite the beach Connie and Jacob had walked together all the way down to the pier.
'So sweet cheeks.. seems as we're not on the course we're supposed to be on how about we do our own beneficial training.'
'Jacob what on earth are you on about? I'm not going back down to that stupid course.'
'No Con, I thought we could just talk, we could sit down and just have a chat!'
'Right? Okay then there's a nice beach area down there, if you wanna sit in the sand?'
Jacob followed Connie down the stone steps, both stopping in the last one to take off their shoes. Walking next to each other they found the perfect place to sit and have the chat that they couldn't deny they were both regretting.
'So?'
'So...Do you want to start or shall I?'
'Well Jacob your always the one with the most to say, so you can go.'
Connie said with a nervous laugh,
'Right, well, so..'
'Come on Jacob spit it out.'
'Sorry, right Con, the day that I began to not like you was so difficult for me, just like the day I met you, if you had said to me that you and I were on a trip to Dorset together this would not have been the reason I would have thought. I have never met anyone so infuriating as you, some how you have a gift to push everyone's buttons, and Connie when I say I want to use these days to see the real Connie Beauchamp not the feisty one that's always in the ED, why won't you just let me in?'
'Because if I let you in we will both just get hurt, this is the last thing I want to be doing, I never meant to be as horrible to you as I was because trust me I know I was an absolute bitch to you. But Jacob..'
At this moment Connie had reached out to hold onto his hands, him doing the same with her.
'The reason for me pushing you away is because I felt myself letting you in which scares me more than you could ever understand. And I am sorry, I'm so sorry.'
Connie felt Jacobs hand across her cheek wiping the tears she didn't even realise were falling.
'Connie you don't have to be scared, because if I'm honest with you me hating you was all just a front, I had to convince myself into hating you rather than loving you, because trust me...'
Before Jacob could finish his sentence he felt Connie press her lips against his...
