Dimitri
I didn’t know why I felt relieved after Ariel had texted me, but I did. Tasha wagged her butt when I came into my room, but I just sat on my bed, dazed and confused. After all the fighting she had put up, she was just like me, considering becoming one of us after spending only the afternoon here. I pet Tasha absentmindedly, wondering if I was meeting Ariel somewhere tomorrow. I felt and heard Kat before I saw her, and she leaned in my doorway with a playful smirk. “That’s a new look for you…” she giggled, and I raised an eyebrow. “What look?” “That dopey ‘Ariel’ look you wear whenever you’re thinking about her.” “I was not, shut up,” I growled, and she walked by, snickering. I rolled my eyes, wondering if my face really did change when I thought about her… I shook the thought, resting my arms behind my head. Tasha layed her muzzle on my chest, falling asleep within minutes. I stared out of my window, and chuckled as I remembered Ariel calling me a “maffle” in the forest. She was actually kinda’ cute when she wasn’t being hostile… I shook my head, wondering if she really was going to join us. She was so passionate about her family and friends, that I doubted it. The others must’ve said something to convince her, though, because she looked torn when I dropped her off. I was tempted to text her again, just so we wouldn’t leave off on a weird, ominous note, but decided against it. She was probably asleep, and I remembered she still attended high school. I laughed dryly, which caused Tasha to stir. “Thanks for being good,” I murmured, petting her head. She sighed in contentment, closing her eyes again. I yawned and shut my eyes with her, the two of us falling asleep shortly.

I awoke before my alarm today, and when it went off, I jumped out of bed and attacked it. I winced as it hit the wall, and I wondered how many more times I would do that before it completely shattered. I figured my numbers were limited, and dreaded the thought of explaining the damage to my parents. I quickly got dressed for school, throwing on a white camisole, a dark navy blue sweater dress with a deep v-neck, and a pair of knee-high black leather boots. I did my make-up and added some waves to my hair before pouring myself a bowl of cereal. I made sure I had my suspension slip to turn into the attendance office, and almost wished I could miss more school. I brushed my teeth and put on my hoodies and scarf before walking to school, my ipod in my ears. I took my phone from my jacket pocket once I received a text message, and stared at the number in wonder. I opened the message regardless, figuring my morning could use a little amusement…
: Ariel! Its Kat! I stole ur # from D’s fone! Hav a good day @ skool! :
I blinked, texting her “ok” and “thx”. I stored her number in with my list of contacts, shoving my phone in my purse after I switched it to vibrate. I went to the attendance office as soon as I entered my school, the little old lady looking at me disdainfully. I raised my lip at her when I turned my back, stalking toward homeroom. Emma and Dexter were waiting for me in the hallway, and I knew they were going to ask what I did yesterday. I waved to them and flicked my head to invite them in, practically running toward my homeroom teacher to show her the note. Once she marked it down, I reluctantly faced the curious eyes of my friends. “So?? Where were you yesterday??” Usually, I was pretty good at lying. But recently, it just took too much effort, and I heaved a sigh as I sat down. “I…was with Dimitri.” “SHUT UP!!!!” Emma squealed, latching onto Dexter’s arm like she was going to fall over…and she just might’ve. “Relax, it was nothing special. We just…went around town and stuff. No hand holding, no kissing, no sideways glances; nothing.” She frowned slightly, but shrugged. “Oh! Here are those chem. notes you missed,” she muttered, pulling them out from her bag. I took them and smiled to her appreciatively. “You look cute today,” she sang, looking me over. Dexter seconded that with a nod, and I smiled. “Thanks. It was the first thing I saw this morning, so I just threw it on.” “And your hair! Adorable!!!” I dipped my head again, Remi poking in for a quick “Hi, see ya’ later, bye”.
