Chapter 11

Kryptonite

Marlene

Sure, this weird S guy was hot. But he wasn't really my type. I'm not even sure why I did what I did. I guess S was my kryptonite, in a sense. He would always be my weak spot.

After a long night's rest, S and I hit the road again. We flew over spectacular oceans and lush islands and beautiful meadows. As we reached our destination, which I was certain was NOT Loch Ness City, S stopped at a small trading post for dinner. The trading post owner was rather chubby and surprisingly small. He started to say something, but Rico began to whisper in his ear.

"Oh. Nice to see you again, S!"

"Thanks. Can I have a large sandwich? And maybe a free one for my friend?"

"Can't do that. I wouldn't make any money if I gave away sandwiches all the time. I barely make enough as it is."

"Ok then. I'll try another place. Maybe I'll try Dean's."

"No, wait! Come back! I'll give you the free sandwich!!! And anything else you want too!"

"Just the sandwich, please," S said as he took the sandwich. He handed it to me and said, "It always works."

I munched on my sandwich while S chatted away. I wolfed down the last bite of my sandwich, when S turned to me.

"Hey Marlene, you do realize you're a very pretty dragon."

"Um..."

"There's this party back at home. It's called the Harvest Ball."

"Ok..." I still wasn't sure where S was going with this.

"Will you go with me?"

I was shocked. Why would S ask a Fangpyre anomaly to the Harvest Ball?

"Yes," I replied. "But first, I want to know what your real name is."

S sighed in defeat. "It's Prince Rico Sullivan III."
