The War

The war had begun. There's little else to say. I wished it hadn't started.
We all thought it would be short and sweet. The Blood Seekers were fairly weak after all. Little did we know that it would last three long years.
So many dragons died in the war. It was rather scary, actually. Some of the Amispires broke with tradition and fought in the war with the Aquidraki and Altimas. Most of them died.
The Amispire government just couldn't keep up with everything. There were new problems everyday. Dad, Mom, and I worked really hard just to keep the government running.
All of this work left me little time for my girlfriend Marlene. We had accepted her into our tribe, so Marlene was now an official Amispire. Marlene was almost a part of our family now.
I loved Marlene, and I thought I always would. But I knew it would be pure luck if we both got out of the war alive.
