Eventually, Alema arrived and took me to the rendezvous point with the rest of the Rebellion while I changed into my new clothes and contemplated my next move in the back.
The Rebels had just fled the Hoth system after a brutal loss to the Empire. The Ghost crew was away taking care of some internal affairs while everyone else awaited results from the spies. The Empire was building another Death Star, and we needed to know how to destroy it. I tried my hardest to not focus on my personal sorrows; there were other things to worry about.
I must've fallen asleep because I had a vision.
"But you don't understand!" a voice shouted. I couldn't see the speaker. "Ahsoka's dead, and we just left her there!"
"Ezra, I understand you feel responsible for her death. I felt the same way when my master was killed. In my anger, I ran. I ran far away, where those who destroyed everything I held dear couldn't find me. In doing so, I ran from who I was. To this day, I'm still ashamed of what I did. Don't do the same thing, Ezra. You will regret it for the rest of your life."
Ezra's eyes turned a sickly shade of red as he spoke, his words full of hatred. "We just left her there to die, Kanan. Vader is a monster. I must kill him for what he did to her!"
"Revenge is not the Jedi way. You are giving in to the dark side."
"I don't care anymore!"
The scene shifted. This time, I could see the entire scene play out. Ezra led Kanan off of the Phantom towards the rest of the crew. Hera rushed forward and ran her fingers over Kanan's blindfold. She realized what it meant and wrapped her arms around him.
Rex made his way forward to see them. He looked from Kanan to Ezra, as if they were missing someone – me. Ezra looked up at Rex, fighting back tears. Their eyes met, and Ezra nodded slightly, confirming Rex's thoughts. Rex nodded back, squeezing his eyes shut.
The scene shifted again. Two people stood staring off at the beautiful landscape in front of them. I moved closer as they began to speak. Their faces became visable, and I recongnized them to be Anakin and Padme.
"We used to lie on the sand and let the sun dry us... and try to guess the names of the birds singing."
"I don't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating, and it gets everywhere. Not like here. Here everything's soft and smooth." Anakin ran his fingers across her skin. They stared into eachother's eyes, lost in the moment. Anakin gently bent down and kissed Padme.
As they parted, Padme disappered. Vader's mask faded into focus, and I heard his mechanical breathing. People were screaming, running, crying—
"You have one rotation to make a decision," the Great Mother hissed. "We shall be waiting, Ahsoka Tano. We shall be waiting."
"Ahsoka, we're here." Alema placed a hand on my shoulder and shook it gently.
I rubbed my eyes. "Gosh, how long was I out?"
"A while. It's good for you."
I stood up slowly and started walking off the ship. "I had another vision of sorts."
"Bad?" Her concern was visable in her expression.
"Not exactly. It just doesn't make sense."
She smirked. "When do visions ever make sense, to be honest?"
"True enough." I chuckled. "But it has to mean something."
"You're a smart Togruta, Ahsoka. You'll figure it out."
